Mounting is going to vary. I have run my radflo remote in the same location as shown above and could never solve the Rub issue with a 295/75/16. Once I tossed that same mount from metal tech and installed them on the frame rail using a bracket that radflo uses on 4runners I solved all my rubbing issues.

I know plenty of others have had issues with the frame rails though.

I also had issues with rubbing with 1-1/4" spacers with my 295's. I weighed those to 10mm custom spacers and all other rub ( fender and pinch welds) went away.

Hope this helps. One thing I have learned on here is there is no one definitive solution for all. if you want, I can share some photos next week when I am home.

It's crazy to me after all of the years of countless hours reading forums, hanging out at shops, wheeling with different people and testing my own options versus everyone else's that there really isn't a definitive answer for something like this. I mean, we all own the same vehicles, manufactured at the same plant with slight differences here and there, but we all do the same things to them for the most part.

Why is it that the guy with a 100 Series with nearly the same suspension setup as mine doesn't rub and I do?

Why is it that we both have the same UCA's and same tires but he rubs and I don't?

These are the types of things that baffle me. I love the idea of the reservoir mounted to the shock tube and I think I'm going to go like that. But above I read that someone rubbed with 295's like that. Aghhhhh! I'm stuck between Kevlar and a fender wall!

To get definitive you have to look at the diameter. I'm at 34.5" and they will rub when mounted on the Radflo brackets on the rails. They will also rub on the TC UCA's without wheel spacers. 33s would be a different story.

I hear you. And as O noted above, diameter does make a difference. But so does tire width, tire manufacturers, etc...

It all takes a little trial and error. And understanding what to measure, how to measure, and the tradeoffs in various things we do to our rigs.

For example, after a few 60 mph desert runs with 295's and 1-1/4" spacers with tc uca's and 2.5" remote res shocks.... there is no way I would ever run wider than a 295 tire. And if I ever switch to a 35, I would only run a 285 width. And stick to a 10mm spacer with a minimal body lift.

But there are plenty that will disagree. Because they have had different experience... and nothing wrong with that....

I was counting the minutes til this happened. It was inevitable.

What's the point of having a Land Cruiser, driving on the beach and not helping the poor souls who come onto the beach in their Honda Civic that immediately go into the soft sand instead of following the tracks of all those before them on the packed HARD sand? LMAO

I pulled a couple out today just to be able to answer my son's question of,"What are we doing?" I replied,"Helping people out cause that's what we do." He said,"Oh cause we have a big truck and they can't drive?" I winked in the rearview.

So anyway, somewhere somehow the clamp for my reservoir broke and this is how I drove and hour and a half. Must've happened while pulling people out and rubbing up against it on a turn.

Ouch!

Good Guy PurpleHeartLC, pulling out those in need
