What kind of tires did you decide on?

Yes, the swaybar drops are super easy. I cut the front one and welded in a piece of 1/2 pipe. Rear I built new drop brackets but need to extend them some more. tube with holes drilled and some longer bolts is the easiest.

I went with the KM2's. A friend of mine has some on his 04 Tundra and I have been impressed. They are probably going to be more tire than I need but I don't think they will be less. Maybe we could chat live about the swaybars when I get to that point. Do you think I can measure castor from underneath the arms?

that's going to be a big transformation.

as long as you have a point that you can accurately measure off of you should be able to see how much it changed. bottom of the arms should be fine. Top might be easier.

Well the lift is on. It looks great and I am really happy with the ride. I was expecting it to be rough but it rides better than stock. I am getting some type of rotating clicking sound from what I think might be the driveshaft. I changed one of the front shaft u-joint last rear and it doesn't feel like there is much play in it( maybe 1/8th of a rotation). I only changed the front u-joint because the back felt fine and it was kind of a bear to get the front out. But it does jerk a little when going from N to D. Should I go ahead and change them both. It almost sounds like it is coming from tcase. Any thoughts? No real vibes coming from it either.

Welcome...finally another Lexus...at least you understand the joys of being on the trail with Bach or Motzart playing on the radio. Ha.

Thanks. No Bach for me but my 5 year old told me that Monet was a fan of his art work. He gets his artistic skills from his dad so unless dirty knuckles are artistic he's in trouble.

There shouldn't be any play in the u-joints, but a f-n-r clunk is normal.

That is what I was afraid of. It actually started to sound more gravelly this morn on the way in. Under 60mph it is good. Above that I just didnt like the sound. Is there a front tcase bearing that is prone to make noise after lifting? What to ride around the block with me later and tell me what you think? Thanks for the help. I am really hoping its the shaft.

drop the front shaft and drive with the cdl locked. That should narrow it down for you. I'm at work in Fultondale but if you want to drive up here I would be glad to take a listen. nothing is prone to make noise after the lift that I am aware of other than the front shaft and that is usually after the caster correction is done. Shouldn't be an issue either way until you get into plates. probably a bad u-joint, did you grease them while you were under there? What did you use for the replacement - toyota or parts store?

Timken if I remember but I could be wrong. I also only did one. The front shaft front u-joint. So it could be the back one on the front shaft is just shot. I might run out but it would be 3pm or so. Don't want to disturb you but would be nice to have another set of ears on it. Will text ya before I come.

Well I pulled the shafts and the joints seemed fine. Greased everything real good. And put it back together but I still have a noise. :( could be the shaft is not in phase? but I don't know how to get it phase other than install the caster kit.

in phase vs out of phase refers to how the yokes are oriented. front should be out of phase, ie the yokes are 90 to each other on the ends. did you try driving with the shaft removed and the center diff locked to isolate the noise to the front shaft?

Try greasing the "slip joint" on the front drive shafts as well. Carefully.... Don't put too much grease in; there are some write ups on the subject...

I haven't. I haven't done the cdl switch yet. (I know I'm a bad lc owner, but I haven't needed to run it locked in high before now). It is quite at all speeds now under 60. I didn't have time to do anything other than pull it and re-grease yet. I will check the phase tomorrow. Thanks for all the help.

Uh oh. I filled it up pretty good. I am learning. Check forum first then perform operation.
