I just purchased a 76' FJ40. Had a few questions on where to buy gear other than coolcruisers.com. I love to hear your recommendations on certain types of gear.

I am looking for:

1) front Floor mats that go directly on metal floor panel and insulation:
-did yall get the 3 piece that installs in the driver's/ center/passenger (looks like 1 piece after install - which I forgot what website I saw them on- so I appreciate if you could point me in the right direction) or did you get the expensive molded 1 piece from Australia- sold on coolcruisers.com- $324?

I plan to put carpet mats on top on either of these to catch more dirt.

2) Rear floor mat- I heard that lloyd's tub mats are thicker and more durable.

3) cheap insulation for front floor panel areas- drivers/center/passanger and cargo area. Seems that coolcruisers.com has this solution for about $50 total for front areas and rear...unless there is another place.

4) Roll cage that extends to the driver's and passenger seats. Seems that JK customs is no longer in business and moved to AZ.

"Does your truck run?"

updated.

Yeah, that was pretty funny. ;)

I'm going to be a big ol' pussy and stay home tonight. I even backed the Tacoma out of the garage and put my new WeatherTech mats in, but it's too cold for this transplanted Yankee. Have fun, and I'll catch you at the next one.

I saw Hangten's truck last night, and it's a rust bucket, and I think he need to get rid of it ASAP to save his marriage, WL, and myself have offered to purchase it, what are pals for! :D

You guys missed a great meeting last night - Lot os wine flowing (thanks to Walter), and Hangten's truck is fantastic!

Check out cruisercorps.com, they have a good selection of these items at decent prices ;)

I found another surface rust spot on my shocks... time to sell while I can still get out early. Sandpaper and paint is too much work. Superglue fixed my antenna nicely- no more electrical tape. W.L helped me check my speedometer- the 40 is under reporting its full potential speed by at least 5 mph. Tires are 31" so I do not see how its off. This must mean that she wants to be raced....or W.L.'s maroon beast is reporting higher speeds. I will settle for my first explanation for pride reasons.

Thanks Tucker74, I was just checking them out this morning...

Hey, Hangten had a tow bar with a reciever hitch that would have hook directly up to my truck and I could've hauled it off for him... wouldn't go for it though. Very nice 40 :bounce: By the way Hangten... Welcome:flipoff2:

Thanks. Actually, when I first bought-stole the 40, the previous owner said the tow bar wasnt towing right. I actually had to tow that 40 on top of what seemed like a 2 ton trailer with my 100 down from Temple. After the meeting, I removed the tow bar and I noticed that one of the metal pieces it connects to was bent- which was probably the issue. So now I gotta find a really big hammer and straighten that out. W.L. go look at that gruiser down the street from your house- its on craigslist (Spicewood). Fully restored.

That is a nice site, don't know how I missed it. I need seatbelts for mine, and might get them there. Thanks!

I am ordering the belts now and a ton of other parts. You should see the lap belt ones that I have in there now. I should take a picture and post online. It is a system of locks and pulleys it seems....

- out of state biz- no tax. Got to love it.

Yeah, I have some real winners as well, look like they came out of a stock car from the 70s...

Got three already, don't have room for a fourth!!! Of course, I could sell a couple I guess....

Do the original fj40's have seatbelts on the jumpseats? If so, What color and are they lap belts or 3 point ones? I am ordering parts and want to try to make this 40 look like it did the day it came off the belt.

My '75 has black lap belts on the jump seats

My '78 just had lap belts also, I think most all of them had lap belts for the jump seats.

[Dammit. I totally forgot about the meeting. I ended up getting my front end done last night. I'm beat.]

Yepper, we had a whole 4 people show up, quite a time we had!!!

The 40's with the smaller jump seats had the belts, but the older 40's with the longer jump seats did not, if I recall correctly. My 71 and 72 both did not have belts for the jump seats. No place to even install them, would have to start from scratch....
