Yesterday I replaced my heater "T"s, when I went to remove the first one I found that it was broken inside the hose. It had not been leaking but that was just a matter of time.
I replaced them with these http://www.supply.com/nibco-3-4-in-pex-insert-tee-np11-lf/p488654 and 3/8" hose clamps.
I did not drain the coolant first, I lost maybe half a gallon of coolant. I did the job before the first start of the day.
No extensions needed for the "T", the bottom hose is a slightly smaller inside diameter than the other two but a 3/4" all the way around "T" fit perfect, the bottom hose took some work to get it onto the "T".
I found it is actually easier to leave the "T" in place and remove the whole assembly from the truck, then replace the "T" and put the whole thing back.
Total cost from Menards for fittings and clamps was $10.
