Hey guys,
I tried searching and did not exactly find what I was looking for so thought I would ask...

I am going on a camping trip and want to take some heater hose spares. How many feet do I need of 5/8th and 1/2 " hose ?

I was thinking of going to Napa as I heard they had quality stuff. Suggestions?
My current hoses look to be in really good shape so just looking for backups

thanks!

You only need one piece of each ID a bit longer than the longest length currently installed on the car.

It not like 3 hoses are gunna blow at the same time (or ever)

I carry a cheap 5/8 flushing tee, clamps and some spare 5/8 hose. I also have some cool Toyota hose plugs that i put in the spares box. One size is for a 62 WITHOUT rear heater(1/2 inch) the other is for a 3 gen supra that is 5/8. I carry two of each to block the heaters if they decide to leak. Cheap and small for the spares bin, Bill

So your mom and dad were preppers? :) I get it. Most auto parts stores have generic heater hose repair kits. Throw that in the back, add an appropriate adult beverage, and enjoy camping with your 60.

I carry about a foot of hose, some metal tubing and clamps for a splice. Also carry duct tape and a piece of thin rubber in the case of a radiator hose rupture.
I'm actually more worried about the corroded metal lines, than the rubber. I've replaced all the rubber hoses already, lol.

A 2nd spare radiator cap with the pressure relief valve removed, so there is a free flow to the overflow tank, will allow you to drive the cruiser with an unpressurized cooling system. I drove my cruiser like that for 5 yrs. no problem. (Was too lazy & cheap to fix a slow leak in the rad).
