I gotta solve my dodge’s droopy headliner. No way can I DIY it without screwing it all up.
Any shop recommended from personal experience?
Current quote is $450+ tax which is a bitter pill.
Thanks!

I have used little upholstery screws. little twisty screws with plastic heads. Used to attach cloth couch arm covers . I used them on a droopy van headliner. It worked well and looked somewhat customized. Got a package of them at Walmart, cheap. A cheap fix.

Hmmm maybe... I don’t wanna destroy the backing material but possibly this would buy me some time which has some value. I’m tempted to remove the cloth material and budget for putting a whole new headliner in when it’s time to sell this pile, err, “gem”

Can you remove the existing headliner form? New fabric, spray contact cement. Easy peasey. Maybe....

Yes I am able to get the shell/form out... but I would totally make a mess of applying new fabric to it.
I don't mix well with fabric. And glue.
Im gonna play with Jeff's suggestion

I realize you mentioned no glue but that could be the cleanest way to resolve this type of issue. I have used it for a bit now attaching sub woofer carpet to wood boxes with success. Key is to take your time and mask off all areas you don't want to glue. Spray only one side and go slow. You can pull back and restart if you get a seam/gap with the adhesive via the link below. You might be surprised how easy this could be.

I like this stuff but you can also get similar spray stuff from Lowes/Home depot.

I also used this roller for flat surfaces with success.

I did something similar years on a Land Rover droopy headliner. It was easy but having a second set of hands to drop it made life much easier. After removing the headliner, I separated the old headliner from the stiff cardboard thing, scraped off all old adhesive with a stiff brush, then sprayed a 3M headliner adhesive and applied the new material. Think i might've used a kitchen bread dough roller to smooth it out.

I don't know if it'd be that easy for the suburban but wanted to mention the process.

I've got some headliner adhesive spray and a roller if you want to give it a whirl. I've only got one hand to help with at the moment, but like others have said, I think its doable. Let me know if you want me to drop off the goodies or plan a time to give it a spray.

That’s guys. I’m gonna band-aide it until the weather is better, I don’t want to take over my heated space with this just yet.
