Hey guys. Been laying low since working on the bi-fold seals, but I have been slowly acquiring parts for my project. Just picked up some quarter panels. Decided to take a stab at re-habbing what's left of my tub ....we'll see how that goes.

Now back to the point of this thread. Has anyone replaced the headliner on the early hard top with the corrugated sides? Being that the fiberglass top is slighly larger than the later model tops, I'm assuming the headliners sold by the various LC vendors is too small. Is that correct? If so, can anyone recommend a source for the material?

Been pondering this question myself.

My alternative was to try and find a similar headliner material and make my own, as I was not going to buy one of the shelf and have to deal with returning it.

Has anyone tried buying one off the shelf from SOR or COTT or who ever?

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that someone was able to make one of the off-the-shelf headliners work....CCOT's is supposed to have some extra material to allow the installer to trim to fit.

I did find an old thread on headliners that provided a source for OEM type material, but the last post was back in '03 I think. I believe the name was Acme. I can search again and post a link if that would help...

great info. Thanks guys!

I'll probably order the material and cut and install my own headliner then. I'm guessing it won't come wide enough to avoid a seam. guess i could hand sew this. Not sure if my wife's sewing machine is heavy duty enoug to handle that material or not.....

It sounds like Acme is just a supplier/wholesaler. I didn't find much as far as retailers. Acme doesn't have the greatest website. I left a voicemail at their office. Hopefully someone can get back to me with some more product details and a list of retailers...guess it's possible they'd sell to me directly if I bought enough. I'll post up when I hear back from them.

Talked to Acme. They confirmed that they do not do retail sales, however, they did recommend me to a distributor. The distributor is called Three Rivers and can be reached at 1-800-245-0220. Ask for Chris.

Chris provided a local retailer for the materials. My retailer is an upholstry shop right around the corner from where I live. I've dealt with these folks on some furniture work in the past, didn't realize that they also did some automotive work.

I'll let you guys know how things work out for me on this. Once I start actually doing some work, I'll start a thread with pics...
