Hey all.

So I added some relays to my headlight circuit in order to use LED headlights instead of incandescent.

Attached is a diagram of how I have them wired.

The headlights high / low beams work just fine this way, however the low beams come on any time the key is turned to on, regardless of the position that the headlight switch stalk is in.

Somehow turning the ignition on is competing the ground on the red/green/blue wire from the OEM harness.

Is that supposed to happen? Or do I have a faulty component?

I haven’t found any chaffing in the wiring where it could / would be grounded out.

Any support would be much appreciated. If anyone is local in San Diego and wants to drink beers and help troubleshoot wiring, that’s good too.

After taking apart the steering wheel and the dimmer switch, this is what I’ve found. With the high/low selector in the neautral (low beam) position, ground and low beam are connected regardless of the position that light on / off knob is in.

To me this seems like it’s incorrect, but now I’m unsure how the selector knob interacts with this.

Any help is much appreciated!

I don't have the wire diagram in front of me, but I'm thinking there isn't a ground and hot inside the switch, it is either switched + or -
from looking at what you show above it would just short out,
