I have a Jackson Truesight 2 welding helmet. It works very well.
BUT
The headgear seems to loosen itself up such that the helmet won't stay up when I lift it. I tighten the side screws to make it tighter but it flops again after 10 minutes or so.

Better headgear out there?
Something I am not doing right?

You can buy a new Jackson headgear for $15-20. I think it’s even on Amazon Prime.
I’m probably due for mine soon, mine does the same thing as yours a lot, I think the side screws might be worn out, or something like that. Do you have the o-rings in there?

This helmet and headgear are quite new.
I hope to find a way to cure this problem or find a compatible headgear that is better.

The o rings are there and dont help enough. Their main function seems to be to hold the plastic nut still in only the direction that loosens the nut.

Whatever is in Speedglas seems to hold up fine out where I work.

Some guys chose Miller, some of us Speedglas & that was years ago - nobody complains about either.

Real common setup we all wear is your skull cap, and we all wrap a standard bandana on the forehead section of the helmet strap, and a little Super 33 tape on either side - swap a new one whenever it smells.

The bandana grabs the cap nice, and a good fitting cap doesn't move, so it works for us. I don't even have my strap too tight.

Have one of these in all of my riding helmets and then noticed they ask if your helmet is a bike or welding helmet. Gonna have to give that a try in my new helmet. Trax Factory - The Orignal Sweat Buster - Bike, Climbing, Hard Hat, Welding and Harness Helmet Sweat Absorbtion System

They used to buy a generic fancy foam-backed terryclothed type thing, but someone made an 'executive call' & nowdays there's a stack of bandanas in the supply cabinet.

Some guys do it to their normal hardhats over the vinyl/foam forehead pads - I expect purchasing decided to just go generic.

Yeah, leave it to the penny pinchers to do stuff like that. Personally, I sweat like a pig regardless of temp outside when I am working out or riding, so having this in my riding helmets has saved my glasses A LOT. Plus it is just held in place by velcro pieces so you can pop it out and wring out if needed.
