HDJ81 vs. FZJ80

I have a FZJ80 mostly stock and running 285 and HDJ80 few mods and plenty of diesel running 315 both stoc gears ... both manuals ( one H151 and other H150 )

the gasser it's fast .. and she take speed easy, more easy compared to my diesel .. the gasser perform better in HW it's more smooth and can handle ( or at least I didn't like to use my 1HD-T more than 3K rpm for long periods ) more rpm .. easyr for more time.

The HDJ80 es beauty for hill passes ..and off road .. the 1HD-T have more torque and you can feel it ..

Tarpage, my gasser is decent but I wouldn't consider it too much faster than my diesel was. I wonder if there is something up with my gasser that I don't know about.

I always feel a bit smug when I read the posts about F(Z)J80 guys adding dual batteries, whinging about power retractible mirrors, headlight washers, cool boxes low mileage and no rust! I got used to the right hand drive very quickly, actually prefer it! and have all of the above factory from Mr. T. The only body swap I would ever do is put a 45 pick up on my 81 running gear.
 
I have driven 3 versions: hdj81, fzj80, and fzj80SC. The diesel launches better theres no doubt, but the gasser outruns it after about 25mph. The sc licks them both off the line.

I think the diesel feels better because there is a distinct and fibrous tendon that links your ears and brain to your testicles. The brain thinks oh yeah that turbo whine and that diesel clatter just gets me sporting wood. Now the SC kicks both and to some extent also plucks the fibers of the testicular tendon, but its not quite as satisfying.

I love this! Sums everything up for me! Part of this might just become part of my sig line.

My diesel kicks hard .. and you feel the turbo boosting up to 15 PSI and my EGT raising as fast as the Tach do . :) the gasser power it's much more even .. said regular .. sure it's NA ..

you can rev it up to 5K without problem and the diesel ( or at least me ) had been shifted at 3500 - 3800 rpm .. ( more than 1k rpm .. less )

The real power band of my 1HD-T it's between 1800 and 3800 rpm .. and the gasser comes between 2400 and 5000 .. that's a wide power band ..

Anycase .. my appreciations are olnyt based in my experiences and feelings .. :D
 
I was hoping to find more technical details, such as per say, number of spines of the axles, suspension differences, transfer box ratio and swapability, etc... Can anyone that has had fzj and hdj clarify this for me? 😊😊
