So I am looking at importing a BJ40 from Panama, and since I am just a big white gringo with no Spanish skills, I am looking at shipping it up here. The difference between a 20 foot container and a 40 foot container is pretty small, so looking at including some goodies to help pay for everything. I hear it can be relatively simple to get a HDJ80 halfcut.Would there be any interest from anyone? Heck, I might buy one for myself! I am not looking to buy and sell any...you could buy one and include it in my container for just a shipping cost. You could always buy a BJ40, 70 etc whatever they have there also. Very interested. When are you looking at doing the deal? Are you getting the BJ40 with the 1HDT in it? Other question is. Do i have to get a half cut or can I have the whole vehicle imported with it being an offroad only vehicle and no chance to title it or does it half to be half cut prior to import? Also PM what my part would be on the split cost shipping the vehicles.

Any inforamation you guys find out in regards to customs, importing, do's, don'ts etc... could you kindly post your findings on this thread? I think it would help fellow mudders wondering about some of the issues of importing diesel rigs and parts.

My contact in Panama flaked out on me, so would need to try and make new contacts. Very hard to do without good people on the ground...
