Selling my 1989 LHD HDJ70 converted BJ70
Asking price $16,000
I've had this truck since 2017 and did the 1HDT conversion in 2020. The body and frame have 459,001 KM and the engine has 237,068. The engine was sourced from a 1990 HDJ81. The rest of the drive train was also swapped, which will be detailed below. Post #30 details all the parts used for the conversion, so every part listed there is new circa 2020. I owned the truck in Los Angeles until 2022 when I relocated to New York. It has been kept indoors the entire time I've owned it.
So... a few weeks ago on a trip to North Carolina the engine suffered some internal damage which I posted about here. Exactly what happened is still unknown, but the main symptoms are excessive blow by, oil consumption, and it was running on 5 1/2 cylinders. It was towed all the way back to the garage and I have not tried to start it since. It still runs and drives but the engine likely needs to be taken out and gone through before someone starts it again. Overall this truck is decent and other than the engine it has a few remaining tasks that I never got to, will detail.
Good stuff
- G-Turbo green wheel
- PDI front mount intercooler
- PDP catch can
- Front and rear factory cable lockers (axles from BJ74)
- Chromoly axle shafts in the front
- Selectable locking hubs
- PTO winch (rebuilt and works)
- H55F 5 spd w/manual transfer case
- AC
- Rock sliders and brush bar
- Suspension seats bases
- Scheelmann seats
- New oem floor cover and many new interior parts
- Frontrunner roof rack and rear ladder
- Frontrunner rear door folding table
- Auber instruments boost/egt gages
- OME 3" lift
- Toyo M55 LT255/85R16 tires (2022 DOT)
- Bluetooth stereo
- Onestone armrests
- Brand new fuel injectors and injector lines in 2020
- New glass and weather stripping all around except for windshield
- Dual batteries (odyssey from 2021) w/redarc charge switcher
- Tons of new parts to go with the truck including a brand new cowl harness
Bad stuff
- Wiring isn't finished
- AC only, no heater
- Windshield washer equipment has been missing since I bought the truck
- Rust has appeared on the roof near a part of the rain gutter
- Rust spots on the front lower corners of the rear windows
So... this is a bit of a project but a lot of good stuff here. Message me for more details and with any offers although I hope it's priced appropriately. I'm not interested in trading for another vehicle.
