Looking for high output alternator options readily available in the US market. I’ve heard about going to the Tundra/sequoia 140amp, but can’t seem to find the brackets needed anymore. I’m going to be removing my 24v starter also soon and going to a common parallel dual battery setup.

Thank you for the help.
Jeff

Is 80A not enough?

Just get the 80 series alternator (27060-66070-84) direct fit into 1HD-T. Get correct back end connector and splices, install, splice into harness-side and away you go in 12V bliss.
Probably not. I'm basing this off of a number of factors:
headlight usage - 10 amps
rest of driving lights usage - 10 amps
stereo - 25 amps
misc other items - 15 amps
that is 50 amps to maintain charge. Now lets add in:
off road lights - 20 amps
12v fridge (when added) 25 amps

I am going to be running dual batteries, and a large winch. I just want to be safe and not worry that I'm running a 12v deficit.
I would like at least 100 amps.

I’ve heard great things about these folks:

Maybe see if you can track down a factory diesel 100/105 GXL alternator - 120a and it doesn’t get better than a denso alternator... what about Japan 4x4?

Why not get it rewired?

I’m actually looking at that option also. I have a Denso service shop just down the street from work. It depends on which case I have.

Johndeere 150A alternator will be able to help ur needs .
Do you have a part number? What modifications are needed to fit it? Thank you

I bought a 120A Denso from Terrain Tamer.
I saw this option, but I was looking for something that I could get anywhere in the States. This is still an option though.

It’s not plug and play, the pulley needs to be machines to 17mm to fit . And If u know how to weld, u need to extend the adjuster bracket .

Do you have any pictures of it installed? What you extended of the bracket?

I just googled the Denso part number in the picture. I haven’t changed it yet though. I’ve had to replace my turbo, and rebuild both axles since I posted this.

I can vouch for M2K.inc I actually have 2 390A alternators from them

I recently opened them up they use larger Koyo bearings and have better cooling design
The internal regulator is an IN6301 uses a 4-pin Toyota connector I converted to a 4 pin connector on the harness using napa EC2469

or you can run a pigtail adapter.
I didn't like the pigtail connector too many connection points.

here is a comparison of the factory one

you do have to run the alternator adjuster bracket i believe it the bracket from the 1hdft/1hdfte as the bracket has a different curve to it toyota part #16381-17020

here is my old thread on when I did the upgrade M2kinc.com alternator. YES I GOT ONE! - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/m2kinc-com-alternator-yes-i-got-one.784794/post-9810472

Apart from a minor adjustment to the adjuster the Sequoia is bolt on, it can even be found with the oval three pin connector.

If you can't find one then go with the HDJ100, there are two options, a 100 or a 120 amp, you can get both with the oval three pin connector, like the Sequoia some are available with a square four pin connector, there is a conversion cable easily found.

So three options that bolt in.

Remember to upgrade the main alternator to battery cable.

Regards

Dave

Hi Dave,

When you say minor adjustment what did that entail? Drilling out more wiggle room?
