Why does the Haynes Repair Manual cover Land Cruisers from the years 1980 through 1996 and NOT include 1997? Seems rather odd considering that the 1996 and 1997 are nearly identical (or so I thought).

Does anyone have this book and do they find it useful? I already have the factory service manual, but I thought this would be a good book to add to the Land Cruiser book collection that I've been slowly compiling.

Because the folks at Haynes suck and have no clue what they are doing.

Stick with the FSM - get the Haynes if your kids need a coloring book.

Junk - That's hysterical.

I don't have any kids yet, so looks like I won't be getting the Haynes manual anytime soon. Thanks!

I have both, I would sometimes check the repair process in both just to compare. The Haynes was actually pretty accurate on some of the more basic proceedures, but missing complete sections on most topics. I haven't referenced it in a long time however and probably won't in the future either. Plus....now that JUNK mentions it...I always thought the paper used in printing felt weird. It actually feels exactly like coloring book paper. ;)
