The non boosted is easier to source, 31410-60290 which supercedes to the 31410-60292 (Cruiser Outfitters# CLN60292N). Which reminds me I need to get about 20 new in-stock clutch and brake master parts numbers on our website. :D

Cruiser Outfitters# CLN60292N - 7x Non-Boosted Clutch Master Cylinder

Now, the NA/US spec B/F/HJ6x stuff all uses the 31410-60282 (Cruiser Outfitters# CLN60282N) which is very similar with the exception of the input rod design and stud length. As both are readily available I've not tried intermixing but I suppose one could put the 6x version on their non-boosted 7x with minor changes.

All good, great tech!

Using a clamp was our end method as well. @cruiserdan and myself looked really hard at trying to drill/tap with a really short bolt as the AISIN units I have do have a tiny bit of material there (not like original) but in the end decided to go with a modified clamp.

Now, I'm not near the BJ71/74 nor near my place but I don't recall any of them being a 3 bolt clutch master rather 2 bolt?
Bj74's are 3 bolt.

I have a conversion, RHD to LHD. It has an interior booster and the clutch master is outside the firewall..
It feels too soft to me to push. So I am glad this thread got bumped.
Do any of you guys see an issue with going to a non-boosted clutch master should I need to replace
this one? I sure don't need help pushing a clutch and prefer it being stiffer to push for better feel.

Bj74's are 3 bolt.

Correct, if factory boosted which afaik all 74'a are. Sorted that a bit down the thread. Unfortunately the 31401-60040/1/2 variant is NLA and rebuild kits are the only option for the 74.

What about the unit mentioned above from DriveTech 4x4? Do you carry that one? or are you not recommending it?

Yes, we do carry that one for the later models but as it lacks a heat shield provision I'd recommend putting an OE rebuild kit in your current cylinder before modifying the later application to work. I've personally had great luck with cylinder rebuilds and sold thousands of cylinder kits. I saw your email and PM, we'll be in touch today.

New cylinder arrive? That do the trick?

Oh, and I may have been able to find the elusive 31401-60042 via @wardharris. I was crawling through some old catalogs I picked up at Terrain Taimer in Aus during my last visit and low and behold they list it. Ward said it was a couple months out but I've got one coming to inspect and see if it's a direct fit.

I got it but have not been home to put it in. The bolt pattern is perfect and the hydraulic line just has to have a 90 bent into it and I should be ready for fluid. Pictures to come!

Sweet.

Thanks, @cruiseroutfit We can have them here in a week if desired.....:)

Your regular stock order is fine for me. I tried to order one direct from my TT connect in Aus last year and they couldn't supply so I'm giving them all the time they need to dig them :D

So I put the new 3 bolt clutch master in place

I had to put a 90 in the hydraulic line but that was it. The distance off the firewall was the same as the stock.

I modified the heat sheild

The only thing left to do is put a strap from the front of the clutch heat sheild to the back bolt of the brake booster sheild to hold it solid. I am going to sand and paint both sheilds black with high temp engine paint.

I filled the clutch hydraulic system from the bottom w/a pump bottle and did not have to bleed it. Worked great.

Fantastic, thanks for the pics. Those will be great to share with future folks in need.
