I did yestereday. I was on rt. 128 near Waltham, MA. Iam in a Yellow and passed a silver. Any of you out there?

It is fun to finally come across another on the highway.

My wife and I were winery hopping over Memorial Day weekend in the NY Finger Lakes region. Would you believe another B/W (Black/White) FJC pulled up to the same winery where we were tasting? Somebody should have taken a picture. I have yet to see another B/W FJC (on the road) in the DC metro area.

Finger Lakes are beautiful. I'd like to own a vacation home on Keuka in the future. I visited Keuka for a week or so every summer growing up.

I'll have to drag my wife out that way. Ever been to Bully Hill?

three weeks after I bought my FJ VoodoBlue I passed by a couple on the freeway with a Fj sunfusion, it's funny they saw me from the distance behind and I drove up right beside them and Honk my horn, and they did too..good feeling to see another one.

dang...and i was just impressed when i saw one in the home desperate parking lot (of course, i was driving a pickup, not one of my many early cruisers :frown: )

been to bully hill. my wife was in rochester for a year during her fellowship and we would make trips to the finger lakes when i would fly up to see her. the vineyards are very cool, but i found the wine to be fairly bad overall.

We were at Keuka last summer, but by-passed Bully Hill because it was so crowded. The best winery is Wiemer on Seneca. Best Riesling up there.

silver owners not very friendly

I own a voodoo blue fj and last Saturday I seen two silver ones within blocks of each other. The first on e pulled into the gas station I was at. After fueling up I went over and approached him about his silver fj. I noticed that he had just bought it from Fletcher Jones toyota. I asked how you like it. He replied,"I only bought it because I just totalled my other vehicle and I thought it was cute." Not the response I was expecting and the fact he was kind of short with me. The other fj I say was just 2 blocks away and was also silver. I did my best to catch up to him to see if he would be more friendly. When we got to a stop light, I was sitting in the lane right beside him and not once the whole time that light was red did he look over at me. So when the light turned green I just took off on him in search of a fj of any other color. Several weeks earlier I pulled into a parking lot that had a twin brother of my fj. No one was around at the time but when I turned my fj around out came a family from a restuarant from about 300 feet away. When they got over by us they told me they wanted to park away from everyone else. So we sat there for about 5 to 10 minutes discussing what we were going to do to our fj's. Much more pleasant folks and more knowledgeable about the fj too. I guess the people who bought theirs as soon as they were available know more about the vehicle compared to the people who are just buying right now. I guess these people just got lucky to be on the lot when one wasn't spoken for and thought to themselves "this is a cute car?"

By the way I was the 3rd one to buy one in Las Vegas, March 25th,2006.

All Silver owners are not mean...

Mine is silver, bought it March 25. Dealer told me I was the first in Atlanta (not so sure I believe him, but hey, it would be cool). Saw another silver just like mine about a month later at Lowes. I stuck my business card in the window with a note that said "nice ride." I came back to my truck later and his card was in my window and said "you too :)." Good guy...

I love this one though...the day I bought mine I headed north up 400 in Atlanta and a guy in a sweet stock 60 passed and nearly wrenched his neck looking at my FJC, then rolled down his window, gave me like 4 thumbs up, turned and dialed his cell phone and then talked and pointed for about 2 miles. I love it when the old school cruisers recognize FJC's as part of the "club."

like I said in my letter, people who bought theirs early are more knowledgeable than the ones who are purchasing now thus making them more friendly. We have something in common, March 25th, 2006.

DC Cruisers- Not just Motorcycles anymore

I live in DC, and spend a lot of time in and around the Beltway. I have seen a sun fusion in Rockville, a Titanium in Silver Spring, another Titanium in College Park, and a Voodoo Blue like mine in Fairfax. I haven't seen a black or a cherry yet other than at the local dealers. I honked and waved at a couple of them, and one waved back. I stopped and talked to another, and we both loved them, but his was an automatic  I also passed a couple of FJ60's, who waved and wanted to see it! That was cool. All the new "yuppie" cruiser types seem to ignore it. Of course, in DC appearances are everything, and they never intended to get thiers dirty. I'm sorry, but IMHO some people really should be driving minivans instead of an SUV, especially something as amazing as a cruiser.

Yeah, too many "boulevard SUVs" around here. As I posted in another thread, look for an overweight, middle-aged guy with a shaved head in a black/white FJC. That would be me. BTW, took it offroad in the large expanse of open fields behind my house in Montgomery County. Great fun. Slide down a hill or two (going way too fast!), but luckily nothing at the bottom. :) I'm planning a trip to Paragon in PA later in early Fall. Can't wait to get it really dirty.

I'll keep my eyes open for you. Maybe we can hook up when you go to PA. BTW, if you want to see just how much you can roll your clinometer, there is a great construction site just next to the IKEA in Beltsville, where they are excavating for a new shopping center and wetlands. There are a couple of huge and very steep dirt mounds that are a lot of fun to climb, though coming down from the top is a bit nerve wracking!
