Has anyone used their GX460's 110v plug to charge a portable power station?

I'm looking at getting a Bluetti EB70S 716Wh or an Anker 535 512Wh station to power an Iceco APL55 fridge. Does anyone have experience charging a portable power pack with the built in 110v inverter?

While out wheeling and camping, my plan is to have the fridge constantly plugged in and pulling from the power station. While the vehicle is on and running majority of the day, would slowly charge the Bluetti keeping it topped off if this is something the inverter is capable of doing. In my head, it seems like it should work but wanted some input.

Not in a gx. But that’s how I do my 200 and jackery. It’s great because it’s already a key hog feed. I never have to remember to turn it on or off.

Went on a 10 day trip like that with zero Issue. Been using it that way for a year.

I've run a small Jackery battery off the 120v outlet and used that to power a small fridge. It's kinda inefficient having an inverter to turn 12vDC into 120v AC only to turn it back to DC again for the battery, but the plugs' right there and I already had the jackery.

The outlet can only deliver 100w per Lexus, which is .83 amps at 120v. Check the docs for the battery pack you want to use to see if it can draw more. If it does it'll probably blow a fuse. Given the size of those batteries you listed I'm guessing they can draw way more than .83 amps.

I think you will need a dedicated house battery to run a fridge that large, using 12v.

I power my Bluetti AC50s 500Wh/300W Power Station (running my fridge) using the AC plug in the rear. It's a pretty slow charge but does keep it topped up during long trips.

I am using single group 31 battery and it's good enough to run iceco JP40 for a day. Probably longer but haven't tried it. I wire a constant hot wiring to back and set the voltage cutoff setting on the fridge to normal.

Kai He got different solution as he found the modified sine wave of toyota inverter does not work to charge ecoflow.

Have you checked the load requirements of your power station? Input/output?
That will tell you if it'll work or not.

That outlet can't handle much. I had a similar plan as you. Goal Zero Yeti 400 plugged into the outlet and 12V Indel B fridge plugged into the Goal Zero. The problem, especially in the summer with the AC running, is that some sort of overload circuit will get tripped and cut power to that rear outlet. Once it trips you have to turn the ignition off/on to reset. I've gotten to camp with a half dead battery despite driving all day because the battery wasn't getting charged.

Easy plug and play option if your vehicle is/was equipped with “power folding” 3rd row for additional power in the rear

Wiring isn’t there if not equipped

The part I’m getting hung up on is I’m only able to find the max charging wattage. Even if it’s a slow charge it’s better than no charge.

On a normal night at camp how much does the fridge drain the 500WH battery? From what I understand a lot of the well insulated fridges only sip power as the compressor isn’t running 24/7.

All depends on use, how hot it is outside and how often the fridge is opened. Yes, the fridge only cycles on when needed so not always on. Generally I get a whole day use before having to charge. I have a backup solar panel if needed.

This is a critical point you've made and one I try to make to people who worry about battery drainage or power consumption with fridges. They ONLY are on when the temp gets low enough to trip the thermocouple.
So, the colder your environment is for camping, the less your fridge will cycle. And inverse of hot climates. The biggest draw from a fridge is when it initially turns on. It'll pull some amps for just a second or so, then motor on quietly.

I use USB-C to charge my little battery to run my fridge. Charger is only rated at 65W so works 100%. Keeps the battery topped as the fridge only sips.

Can't I just use a wire tap if I want to keep the functionality (I use the seats all the time)?

The Anker I'm looking at has the ability to charge via the USB-C port. When the 535 Powerhouse 500w is back in stock, I'm going to order one.
If you're ordering from Amazon, just try it out with your fridge for a few days in your garage/driveway and see if it works for you. Amazon is so easy to return, if it's not keeping up with your fridge, then just ship it back.
Then report back to us and let us know how it did/didn't work!

Will do, thank you!
