Portable Sleeping Platform

Wondering if anyone has knowledge about this product. I have 2nd row captains chairs in my GX, and the front legs must rest on the back of the folded down seat. With captains chairs there is a gap in the middle. Wondering which size platform bed would work while keeping the bed to one side of the interior.

Interesting. I hadn't seen that one before. Can you get long(er) legs and then cut them to length to account for them resting on the back of the seat or the floor in between the captain's chairs?

Quick question, are you under 6 foot tall? They show a woman laying on their cot. Just thinking, generally women are shorter than men. I'm 6'-0", and having slept in the back of mine when my RTT was off, I had to scoot the passenger front seat up a couple of inches to stretch out. And I had to find something to fill the gap from the middle seat being folded down to the back of the front passenger seat.

I am a fan of this idea. I built my own platform out of 20/20 aluminum and it didn't cost anything close to $600. But it works well, I am 6'2" and can lay straight out if I want to, with my head against the drivers seat back.

Test fitting the new sleeping platform, 79x26”. Needed a little trimming to fit around the spine of the drivers seat. I think it’s going to work well.

How far up do you need to scoot the drivers side seat up? When I've slept on the passenger side, I needed a couple inches moved forward.

As far as it goes. IIRC I get about a 75" bed.

Fortunately with seat memory it is easy to return it to where it was, in the morning.

I used a similar REI platform for an extended trip a few years ago in my 470. I didn't use the front legs, since my seats don't fold flat. I just rested the platform on the seatback. I removed the other seat so that I would have room for a bike, a fridge, and for me to move around a bit. It worked well for me and a single bed would probably be best for you on the captains chairs.

Hey @chipsterguy i can help. I’m a member here and own Pacific Adventure Works. The Sidekick model might be your ticket. It has a 24” wide sleeping surface and the legs are roughly 20” apart. Measure the seat back width on your captains chairs- it should be pretty close!
