I'm about ready to paint my 80, and thinking a color to be Toyota Olive gray 6H9. I'm wonder has anybody done it before if able to post pictures. It seems like change a color a lot under sun light to appear more lighter color.

Happy new year!

It's been a while, my few of local paint shops are trouble to find a formula for 6H9, so I ended up with Toyota Army Green satin finish instead. So far I like it.

I like that color. Toyota army green satin?? interested in the code too

Now we just need to get Monstaliner to offer it as a color!

Toyota's 6H9 is basically "Light Olive." Monstaliner's version of light olive is of course "Sans Panties."
Conversely, Eric at Monstaliner tinted for someone the 6V7 Army Green, which are the three images of below:

Yep, and I tried to get some, but Eric never got back to me for my 2 gallon request. I can dig that, is't a business after all and small orders don't make money.

Group buy for a bunch of gallons in the 6v7 maybe? Make it worth their while?

I'd think he'd do it for you. Why not? From what I've gathered, for a while now, he's perpetually difficult to get a hold of. Communication doesn't seem to be his best trait. He's on the Jeep forum more regularly. I'd say if you're wanting for him to tint it for you - that you remain persistent in your knocking on his door. Conversely, order the two gallons of tintable ML (writing within the request "NO TINT"), and purchase the actual no-binder tint from a local PPG or Sherwin Williams Automotive paints store/outlet. I'm gathering NAPA and a few of the auto parts stores can and do mix paint tints. Regardless, that's all Eric would be doing for you - fabricate the tint - that you, yourself can just as equally & easily have fabricated for you elsewhere (PPG Automotive / Sherwin-Williams Automotive, etc). Same would be true with U-Pol Raptor - which I'm believing is basically the exact same UV-stable, poly-urethane with ceramic formula product. Simply that Raptor is marketed to be applied via its user-easy spray applicator (although can be hand-applied via roller-sponge); where as, Monstaliner is more so marketing their product to be be applied via hand & roller-sponge (although can be applied via spray gun). ~Skydog.

I know Monstaliner is supposed to be able to be tinted with other products, but I'm not paint-savvy enough to be comfortable doing it that way. Seen too many botched jobs on here from mixing incompatible products from different manufacturers, and I wouldn't know the difference until it was too late to fix. I'd like to keep it all in the same family if at all possible.

That being said, my factory paint is getting really bad and this summer it's going to have to be painted with some damn thing or it's gonna start rusting. I guess I'l just keep on bugging them for the color and hope it comes through at some point!

Why not just go with tintable raptor liner and get whatever tint you want from your local paint store ? Thats how I did my truck a few months back, tinted the liner to 045 Toyota white. Its a spot on match and cost less than $30 for the tint.

That's what I'd do as well. I'm believing Raptor & Monstaliner are basically the same. ~Skydog

I have seen both up close and they certainly don't look the same after application. That's the number one reason I went with the Raptor was the finish quality.

Correct. The application is different. And the resulting appearance is different, even if both are sprayed. But the actual chemistry of both 2K products is quite similar. They're both simply poly-urethane with powdered ceramic mixed-in.

How about Eastnor Green (419) from the Range Rover Classic? I know its sacrilegious to put anything from a Land Rover onto a Land Cruiser, but I think its a great color.
