I took advantage of a Harbor Freight 20% off coupon in the most recent Rolling Stone mag (with Madonna on the cover). I was looking to find a decent sand blast cabinet and they had one for $299, it was on sale for $220, with the 20% off coupon, I got it for $175.

If you need a "big ticket" item for the workshop, it might be worth picking up a Rolling Stone mag and take advantage of the 20% off coupon...

Says 9.5 cfm @ 90 psi, my compressor runs 10.6 @ 90 psi, so it is within "spec". Gave it a quick test on some parts and it whipped the old paint/rust off quickly. Will save tons of time on the small parts but I can still fit a wheel in it so I can take care of stuff that big w/o having to sit outside and eat all the dust.

Run out of tools to buy, don't think thats possible, is it?

I ordered one of these 2 years ago. It was back ordred one week after another until I said screw you guys I'm going home. Sure would be useful on the rust buckets I was picking up those days...that and plasma cutter of which apperently you have now. You are on your way to a small time fab shop.

I have Greg's plasma cutter on "loan" until he gets a compressor for himself.

And, that's why I've found this such a great group to hang out with. If one of us doesn't have the right tool, someone else does and isn't shy about helping each other out...

Bummer - that's a bit of a stretch for my current compressor...but you're not a far drive.

I've got a handfull of small parts that you could practice on :grinpimp:.

Speaking of compressor, my 246.00 HF 14SCFM compressor is still working great...however its only been 6-8 weeks.

Jerry - let us know how it works in the coming weeks, also inside dimensions?

If you sign up for their email list, HF will send you a 20% off coupon via email every few weeks, as well as the current circular.

Nice purchase Jerry.

Inside dimensions are: 33 X 22 14-22, the door is angled, 14 on the short side. Enough room to fit a 16 X 8 rim inside with room to work...

I didn't know that, good reason to sign up IMHO....

Think i might have to sign up for the e-mail list myself. Got a bit of a garage to fill.

Too bad you couldn't have used that kind of coupon discount for the lift...

I haven't gotten a coupon lately, but I get the mailers. I have a LOT of parts to be blasted!! Jerry what's your favorite beer? :D

If you have not assembled it yet, read on.

Silicone each piece during assembly with caulking gun. These things will find every crack to leak out of! I tore mine apart to completely re do it.

The body side of the door I used soft window and door seal from Depot to further seal the door entry as you always loose media when you open the door as it sits in corners.

I also bought the smallest Home Depot Ridged vac that fits under it and have only emptied it twice in the 4 years and 4 bags of glass I have blown though it.

I however need to replace the gloves as the stitching came out.

Also pic up a few magnetic trays for small parts.

No problem, I sit and drink a beer or after I show you where the on/off switch is:lol:

Give me a yell if you want to get things cleaned up...

Thanks for the advise. It is together and I only found one spot where any dust was leaking out. And, that was with all the holes sealed up. With a vacuum, it didn't leak. I must have got lucky and it was pretty tight...

Don't know about Harbor Freight gloves, The ones I used were one piece, glove and sleve. Expensive to replace and usually left wore out first. Ended up cutting off old glove inserting a 1/2 inch wide 4 inch pvc piece inside the sleeve. Getting a heavy duty parts cleaning glove, stretching over the pvc and using a hose clamp to hold it all together. My worn out sleeve are now car innertubes. Just fuel for thought.
