So we had a great turnout at the last HAMOM thanks to the hospitality of Ryan. As we approach the month of March is there someone who is something on there mind as something they would like to have done. If location or space is an issue for anyone I am sure we have a few that are willing to give us some space to help others. If we don't have anyone in the next week or so post up a project for March we will meet in a central location to discuss the end of March OBX Trip and Itinerary for the trip.

I have yet to meet any of you, but I am excited to finally see some other cruisers and meet the people behind them. I have never seen one run :).

But anyway, my place is open for the HAMON. I sure hope I don't need anything done by that point, but I've got room for a few to be worked on between the garage and the driveway.

I think I have enough tools to get almost any job done, but if we need something else for someones project I'm sure somebody could bring something down.

I've got plenty of space, a BBQ, and a Beer fridge in the garage so I'm think we would be able to cope well.

I'm just south of Sanford about 10 miles and is really easy to find.

Hopefully that works out for all you. Just let me know as my Garage doors are always open.

I'll miss anything going on that weekend, I will be in Germany so I'll throw back a few weissbiers in honor of ONSC.

Sounds like we may be putting Stephens lift on this weekend, location will require a bench press for caster bushings. I will let him chime in if this is something he would like to tackle in the upcoming month.

Alright a suggestion was made that if we don't have anyone who has signed up for a March HAMOM that we have a Yard Sale/Swap Meet for cruiser related parts. How does everyone feel about this taking place for our March meeting as well as discussing the plans for the OBX trip.

I know they are quite a few people that are looking to try and finish the basics on their crusiers for the trip and this would be a great opportunity to gather a few parts you may not have. If you can't make it and you have some things you may want to get rid of see who is nearby and ask them if they are willing to bring some things with them. Location will be determined in the next few days if this sounds like something everyone is up for.

I have plenty to do on my cruiser, but I'm not quite sure what a good HAMOM might be. I'm planning on attending this HAMOM so I can meet some of you all and help out and learn some things first. Perhaps in later months we can work on the rustiest cruiser in the carolinas!

Can't wait to meet some of you all.

If we really need something to do on a project I'm sure I could come up with something. I just figured there was someone more needing than I.

(Rear disc Brake Swap)

(Re-wire...except I hear this takes weeks)

Maybe just adjust the brakes I do have.

That and I don't have the brackets for the Rear disc brakes anyway.

Maybe just enough wireing to get me legal for the OBX?

Also if in this parts swap anyone has any extra mirrors (of any shape or size) let me know. Another one of those things I need to be legal.

Maybe the thing to do is get all the trucks together, and have a multi-person HAMOM to fix some of the smaller items people have? I know I could use some help pulling my stuck drums off and seeing if I need new pads or not... Just an idea...

I think that is a good idea. Why not just combine bringing down the parts and while we are all there we might as well work on what we can.:meh: It is true that there are many of those small projects that would just take a few bucks and a few minutes but are really hard to do alone.

I could really go for that too. Been needing to bleed my brakes and diagnose a problem there but can't do it in my parking lot. That's just one thing. I'm sure there is more that I can think of before then. That is if my electrical problem is fixed by then...(see electrical system post)

I am the same way. I need to have mine bled just for the sake of getting any water that may have settled in the bottom out of the lines. Could always use some help with that as my freinds don't like to be suckered into my projects.

Are there any electircal guru's out there? I don't think my alt is working (no surprise as none of the electircal works). Thinking of tearing it apart and seeing if new brushes or a whole new Alt. I'm sure there are tons of small projects that we could work on during the HAMON.

Anyway still looking forward to having the HAMON down here and to discuss the trip. I can provide burgers and beer and tools. Just excited to get out on the road and meet some people with some real passion for these things. I get ADDICTED to every car I ever own......even if it is an inferior Gasoline Milled rig. :p

Alright as March approaches we need to decide on a location that works for most everyone planning to attend the OBX Trip. I say this because it is our intentions to set forth a schedule for those attending and your input is important in making those decisions. So with that said we have two individuals who have offered up their place to us Ryan in High Point and Jason in Sanford

We would also like to incorporate a swap meet/Yard Sale into this meeting, it may be best suited that at this time we skip the HAMOM unless someone is prepared and has the parts tools needed at the time of the meeting.

So with this said, what do you all think?

I vote for Jason in Sanford...nothing against Ryan, purely geographical reasons.

Will this be an afternoon type event? If so, I will be able to make it and vote Sanford for same reasons as above.

Alright guys the consensus is Sanford so we will plan on a 2:00pm start/meeting, if you have anything you would like to get rid of bring it with you. If you have a minor repair you need help with bring tools and the appropriate parts.

Jason if you would send out an email so everyone knows where they need to go, if guys want to do some repairs and start earlier I don't see a problem with that as long as you are okay with it.

I have a lot of FJ40 parts I need to sell if anyone needs anything they can't find. I won't be able to make it to the March 9th meeting, and there are too many parts for me to load them up and take to a swap meet. Send me a PM if there are any parts you might need.

R.K.
