No lie, A buddy and I did it today in 9 hours. He was there for 7. Truck drives much better and the freeway is way better. I did it on the base and used the auto hobby shop. Lifts and tranny jacks. The post on www.off-road/tlc.com is pretty accurate. Only leaving out the part to support the engine before removing the aft crossmember. Went smooth and bolted back easily. Didn't do the clutch. It looked new. Thanks for the encouragement to do it myself. Now I know it was done correct!!!

Did you take any pictures? Glad you got it done! I got the front of my lift done for the most part today. Must have been a good day for Cruiser work !!

I'm glad you guys accomplished it on your own.
Got the oiler cup in?
Plugged that extra bolt hole?
Then you're good to go. Have fun, 5 gears is the way to go.

update on RPMs

at 60 actual before h55 engine RPMs were 2400. After H55 same spped RPMs were 2000. Spooled the engine up to 2400 in 5th gear and actual speed was 69mph, all verified by my Garmin 2610. I love my FJ even more now. It drives through the gears so much better. It is much quieter on the freeway. I figure that is a 10% reduction in RPMs over stock. Pretty good. If anyone wants to do theirs, just let me know. I will help.
