Looking for that spline tool that helps line up the disc when installing the clutch cover.

Looks like this:

For 1HD-T engine... tried to find one when I bought my clutch kit but the vendor had no clue what I was talking about.

Need 3.

Thanks!

I searched for that too (unsuccessfully) My solution was to put a long 10 mm socket onto a 3/4 inch adaptor and with a few wraps of insulation tape it was perfect :hillbilly:

LOL!!

Well that will certainly be a backup plan, but would love to know where to get one...

I searched all the parts diagrams and couldn't find anything, and the guys in Saudi Arabia where I bought my clutch looked at me like I had 2 heads when I asked about it.

There's a part number cast into the clutch alignment tool puctured. It's on the upper portion.

The one pictured is just a generic clutch alignment tool I got from google images so I'm not sure if a toyota one would be the same...

Figure out the spline count and pilot diameter. Then do a search for clutch alignment tools and get in touch with ........

Shouldn't be that difficult.

I bet a good clutch rebuilder ( like "Bay Area friction" ) might even have one for you.

I used a universal tool. They are under $15 used on ebay, just look for the metric set and I think the right pilot insert is 15mm (same as 2F FYI). The 14 spline is nearly impossible to find (went through 35+ used plastic ones at a good tool pawn shop). The 21 spline HZ can be found in plastic for H55 (15mm) and the 21 spline 3B/HZ/mini truck (12mm) is uber common for the R series transmissions and B H55's.

woah that's a great idea! Looked it up and they seem to be quite affordable.. and can use them on other vehicles. Did it work well? or did it take some messing around to get it right?
