Hey fellas im looking to but a h151 gearbox into my 75 series ute instead of a h55 just wondering if someone coukd tell me what that involves modification wise or will it just bolt straight in? Are the 79 series running this gearbox and if so can i just use a h151 from an 80 series and use 79 seires prop shafts to my diffs? Any help would be much apreciated

79 series with the 1fz engine run the h151f. 79 series with the 1hd fte and 1vd ftv all run the h150f.

Whichever H box you use, you will have to relocate the gearbox crossmember, new holes in the floorpan for shifters, and custom length driveshafts. 79 series shafts won't fit since the 75 wheelbase is shorter.

I'll be interested in hearing from others but my understanding is the 80 series with a 1HD-T had a H151, the HZJ80 had the H150. Your flywheel is 275mm and I believe you require a 300mm flywheel from a 1HD-T, clutch and bell housing also to suit. Luckily a bellhousing from a H55F to a 1HZ is worth an awful lot.

An H150 transmission might be easier as you can avoid the flywheel swap.
