just got my first FJ40 with a H diesel engine in it. Its an Australian import. Sourcing gaskets etc and parts are either pre 9/77 or post 9/77 and am not sure what the difference is. Think the engine is probably 1979 from other threads, number is h67979, but cant be fully certain. Is there a difference and how can I identify which age bracket the engine is. Thanks

Look at parts site, look at the timing or injection pump section. I'm there are other ways to ID it.

The I use is this site, I hope this helps.

Great. Thanks for that. Liam

I use it as parts reference, once I get the part number I can do the reverse and what toyota vehicles used it. Or you can find what year or years a particular part was made. Like in your case. Once you have the part number the options are endless as to where to look.
