I picked up my 2024 GX550 OT Plus and finally took it on a short road trip 2.5hrs to a Lacrosse Tournament. Mostly highway.

The Bad
-The MPGs were 16.5 for the entire trip that was 95% highway I could not get 300 miles out of one tank. This sucks I will be driving from gas station to gas station.
-The hood vibration on the highway was terrible it is constantly moving flapping around like a Ford Bronco
-This is a loud truck at speeds greater than 70mph at 80mphs the air noise from the roof was super loud. I pulled off the rack cross members and will report back it those have any affect on the crazy roof air noise.
-The alignment from the factory is bad it pulls hard to the left. dealer will fix
-The Toyo Ats must be out of balance as the truck had a consistent vibration that would shake you. dealer will fix
-My OT+ came with running boards that are useless and will only serve as a way to get my pants dirty. I am nos sure why mine did not come with the metal bar like sliders I have seen on others.
-The driver monitor was a little annoying while wearing sunglasses it kept chiming for the driver to look at the road and if my arm blocked it (holding the wheel at the top) it would alert me to sit up.

Perhaps coming from an Audi Sedan my expectations were way off but my other highway driver is an F250 I figured the GX would be in between however it is not.

The good
-Great looking truck
-Seats and driver position were very nice.
-the cooler box centerconsole was nice
-cruise control was nice.

Overall I am now questioning if this is the right vehicle for me but I am not ready to take a hudge loss on the truck just to get out of it. After owning a few LCs over the years was super pumped for this truck as I put money down in June of 23 on it.

Can you turn off the driver monitor? Is it mandatory?

Wow, as I hear more first hand opinions, I'm starting to think I should take the GX of my list for the next vehicle purchase.

Sounds like at least a few of these things would easily be noticed on an adequate test drive. And they should have been rectified by the dealer, with another test drive to verify, before you even gave them a cent of your money
