I know it's terrible, but I won't even respond to a car ad I'm interested in if the guys spelling and grammar is that bad. That truck has foam cell socks? I mean really? You're trying to sell something of decent value, take the time and proof read stuff. Sheesh.

For some, English is not their native tongue. And foam cell shocks are legit - Ironman, and possibly others, are built this way.

I know foam cell SHOCKS are legit, foam cell socks aren't. I'm not knocking someone who doesn't speak or write English that well, since it's a very difficult language to learn, but my phone autocorrects better than his ad is written. I have to physically cancel out the auto correct option in order to spell "interrior".
My point being is when you're trying to sell something, taking a few minutes to put together a thought out ad with correct spelling, grammar and scentence structure goes a long way.

If I were to sell my vehicle in a foreign language, I'd have someone proof read and make corrections. It'd take all of 5 minutes. The guy selling that is probably a doctor or a lawyer too, lol.

I'm currently selling a rear seat on CL out my old TJ wrangler. The guy interested keeps calling it a "jip sit".

I don't know...... I see where you are coming from (from where you are coming, now that I know I'm being graded) but there have been many instances wherein I've judged someone based on their ability to articulate a thought, only to find myself humiliated when I realize that their talents lie elsewhere and exceed my own. There are many kinds of intelligence, this guy clearly has some degree of smarts because he chose a gx 470. I'll give a fellow WGW the benefit of the doubt. Full disclosure - I did laugh heartily when I read about the "foam cell socks".

I understand that "correct spelling, grammar and {scentence} structure goes a long way." Take into consideration that native English speakers still have typos and spelling errors, so imagine the challenges when English is not your primary language.

ya, that's all I'm saying. I'm not saying the dude is some low level scum and sucks at life, I just get a kick out of the effort, or lack of, to sell the vehicle. It'd be like selling a one of one 1964 Ferarri and only posting one picture of the drivers front valve stem.

I'm not looking for a perfectly worded essay on the vehicle for sale, and I understand spelling and grammar issues are common. I'm mean, I'm just typing away on my phone and it's correcting spelling errors as I go but it's not perfect. It's like failing an open book take home test. In my opinion, it's physically harder to misspell a word with all the correction nannies that phones and computers have now, so I guess I give the guy props for messing it up that bad.

Anyone think either are worth a trip from or shipping to VA?
Probably not. They both seem like good deals but I've seen several in the last few months that were as good or better and that is a huge distance.
What I will say is that there may actually be something to buying a car from a state without snow. I bought my 2007 in August and there isn't even a hint of rust on the frame; it looks like the steel is brand new. When I lived in the Midwest it was very common for cars to start showing rust well before 9 years.

Mine is going from the Midwest to Arizona this spring. I've thought about selling it out there and buying another one that hasn't been in the Midwest but I'm far too attached to mine.

I would try to buy something rust free for sure. Being from the Midwest, it is rare to find something rust free that lived here. I bought mine in Tulsa, OK and I do drive it in the winter. Great fun in the snow. I run through a full service car wash almost daily during the winter. Two winters now and still looks new under there. Unlimited car washes for $27/month is well worth it to extend the life of this vehicle.

Ya, just be glad these don't have the frame rot issues the old 3rd gen 4Runners and Tacomas had. Those were a nightmare. These seem to hold up forever, even in salt states.
