I know several of you still have questions about this setup. I apologize that I haven't been getting some actual numbers out there like I normally would when reviewing things like this. I have been pretty busy preparing for a trip and working on house stuff. I can say that the ride is enjoyable. Even with E-rated tires its not harsh, soaks up bumps and road imperfections well, but also provides a firmer ride. It's a very well sorted kit and the price is crazy low for what you're getting. I'm currently testing out the stock 4runner rear springs to see if they will work with my setup.

@ OP thanks for posting this. I've been using it as a guide while installing this kit on my own GX470.

I did figure a few other things out that you didn't explicitly mention that I think are worth adding.

There is a drop-in stud with plastic retaining washer that is used to secure the mount along with the M8 threaded hole. I used a small screw driver to keep the stud from spinning while I tightened the provided nylock nut onto the stud.

To compensate for the plastic retaining washer I also installed a provided plastic shim washer under the M8 bolt, like this.

All installed my looks like this. I cut the pigtails off of the oem shocks and left them plugged into the oem shock harness to protect the connector, just in case, and zip-tied them out of the way.

Moog FJ front shock mounts are on their way, when they arrive I will install the fronts.

I am planning on keeping the airbags because I do more towing that your average bear, and the height compensation form the airbags is helpful for keeping the right chassis rake and suspension geometry with a trailer hitched up.

After a short break-in drive I found that one of the rear shock reservoir hoses had moved to come in contact with a flange on the frame. A ziptie fixed it no problem. Keep an eye out after install!

k/2 describes it well. It is slightly firmer than stock, but nicely composed. Works fine with my kdss. I think that i was able to lift the rear around 1.5in by fiddling with the rear air suspension settings. It's close to the original rake now. Overall I like the kit. Can't wait to take it off-road for real, soon!

Do you have any pictures of the final lift amount? I'm curious what tire size are you running also?

I saw that Toytec has a thicker lower spring seat that is supposed to raise the front 1" on the Tacoma BAJA and 4Runner TRD PRO. It looks like these are both Bilstein 6112 front shocks like the FJC TTUE.

I will be running this setup with SAW 1.5" rear springs on my GX and I'm wondering if I will want the extra lift up front.

Has anyone done before/after measurements to see how much lift this kit really gives?

Did the full install this weekend, keeping the rear airbags for the time being. No level sensor adjustments were made. Tires are 255/75r17 KO2's, that size does for sure fit in the spare tire area with about 10mm of space to the panhard bar

Before wheel to fender LF 257mm, RF 263mm, LR 300mm, RR 310MM set at N
Rear suspension from N to H raises about 30mm

After install and sitting overnight LF 285mm, RF 285mm and no change in the rear

I was hoping for a bit more lift but it drives great! Damps very well. For the cost, I bet it can not be beat.
I have a MT rear conversion and SAW 1.5" rear springs waiting to be installed. I think I may still do the Toytec 1" spacer too.

OK, so a front lift of a bit over an inch and there's still some rake front/rear. Good info, did you do the install yourself?

Yup, I really like the ~1" rake more than the stock 2". I did it myself but I have my own repair shop too.
Totally doable on the ground.

For the fronts, I took the outer tie rod loose, loosened the control arm bushing bolts and unbolted the ball joint carrier from the knuckle. That allowed the whole control arm to swing out of the way. I also did not modify the lower bushing, just made an adjustment to the lower control arm tab to get it to slide in to the arm.

On the rear, definitely cut the nut off the top of the shock. Use a new blade and cutting oil.

How is everyone look liking this kit after some time with it installed? Any issues? I have one for my 05 Sport. Any KDSS
Specific things to watch out for? Thanks.

Scott

I've been extremely happy with it. I recently installed the front Toytec 1" spacer and rear Saw 1.5 springs.
Ended up with a 2" total lift with a 2" rake at the fenders and 1" at the sill. It's perfect once I'm loaded with gear and bikes.
Aligned well and minor rubbing just in reverse. Still need to move the fender liners forward.

I purchased one of these kits on ebay about 1.5 months ago, and then shortly thereafter ordered a dobinsons mrr kit from treaty oak offroad. trying to decide if i should install this kit while waiting for the dobinsons kit to arrive, or just sell this one and stick with my worn out stock suspension while i'm waiting. life is full of tough decisions.

If you decide to sell the TTUE kit, let me know!

I'd be interested in it as well
