I "lifted" the rear using the oem/factory airbags by tricking it with spacers and moving the rod all the way up. the stance is perfect but the problem is, that it is VERY Stiff, rides rough over bumps, and it feels really max'd out which it probably is. I actually like the airbags and would like to keep them over going to a coil spring. question, do they make a aftermarket airbag that lets you lift it?

I have to chime in. I have heard the same want from a lot of people on here. I was also dead set on keeping my rear air suspension when they called me during install of auxiliary gas tank to say the tank
Wouldn’t fit with the stock air rear. So I didn’t have much choice. I wanted the gas tank.
I have not looked back even for half a second. The air suspension is great but if it is time to replace it have no fear of switching over to coils. I think the truck drives even better. The stock feel “floaty” while the switch feels planted to the road.
I have helper airbags if the load gets too much but I’ve found the coils handle a lot on their own and either is Lexus comfy for sure.
To simply answer your question, I am 99%sure there is not an option aftermarket for what you are seeking. Fear not the coil switch! Lol

I’ve been a proponent for over two years of keeping the rear airbags, but i finally had enough of the harsh ride.

I’m switching over to rear coils as soon as I get a chance to get the work done. Im just missing my rear lower links...order stuck in processing at vendor.

This is my first gx470/lexus/Toyota/4x4 that I just took ownership of less than a month ago so I was leaning towards trying to keep as much of the factory options as possible, but if I would have to loss the airbags due to lack of options than I wouldn't have a choice. No doubt, with coils it would perform better overall but I just thought i should ask this community if there were options that I was not aware of as im a noob in this platform.

Theres a company in Australia that makes high lift airbags for the GX. They're not cheap though

(EDIT: I know I'm stating the obvious...but...) The stiff ride comes from over-inflated bags...

I think the sensor trick would work great along with a spacer on top of / under the factory aigbag.

That way, you'd get the height (still auto-adjusted) along with "normal" air pressure.

But does anyone make an airbag spacer?

Maybe someone should fab up a spacer that would slip under the airbag, to use along with the sensor trick / lift. Seems like a relatively cheap way to retain the air suspension, if you like it.

Airbag man

I've got them and I'm happy with the performance and ride so far.
