Hey guys! I have been lurking for a little while since discovering the GX platform at work (4 wheel drive mod shop doing mostly trucks and keeps and have done a few GX460’s) and am almost ready to trade in my lifted Subaru Crosstrek for a 470. At our shop when it comes to SUV’s we normally just do spacer lifts, wheels, tires, roof racks and that’s about it. Never any full suspension lifts so that side of things is a little new to me. I’m wanting to get your ideas/advice on how to build out my future 470.
Main Uses:
- my daily
- road trips
- camping (hauling all our gear and prob not the RTT route
- light to medium off road but want to overbuild the rig slightly
Plans:
- lift (OME, Ironman, icon stage..)
- wheels (TRD’s or Fuel Off Road)
- tires (Open Country’s but size??)
- roof rack (have a Prinsu Designs on my Subie and love it)
- cut front bumper w/ hidden winch if possible
- sliders/skids
- spare tire carrier
- lights
Questions:
- which lift is best for mainly street but can handle roughly anything besides crawling
- what size tires fit with a trimmed front bumper, BMC, poke just a bit, on a 17 (don’t need the pride of running 35’s haha but want someone meaty)
- what’s out there in the “hidden winch” department
- what other mods/maintenance needs to be done while the lift is happening to keep the rig happy and healthy (the car will probably have around 120k on it)
I don’t I don’t have the truck yet but am beyond the dreaming phase and am ready to jump on the right one when I find it and would love to have a lot of this stuff planned out already haha. Any advice is MUCH appreciated.
Also drop a picture of your rig with a simple mod list would be super helpful to have all that info in this one location. Thanks guys!
