Recently got back into GX owenership after selling my first one, and the first project was to build a drawer system/sleeping platform.
It is fairly straightforward but also definitley overbuilt, using mostly 3/4 in plywood, and 2x4s, and therefore very heavy.

The slides ended up taking up more space than anticipated, however I am very happy with the final result.

There's only one question left and that is on attaching and securing them.
My original plan was to use the third row seat anchors, J bolts, and some sort of flat bracket/very large washer to make sure the nut holds onto the plywood securely, however now I am second guessing myself.
Each of the J bolts says 185lb working load limit, x4 that is 740lbs. This thing definitely weighs much much less than that, so it should be sturdy in normal situations, however what about in the event of a rollover or other crash. is there a way to reasonably calculate how strong the "anchors" need to be to keep it in place.
The third row seat anchors are very strong and i was hoping to avoid cutting the carpet and using those bolts, but now i am considering it.
What are y'all doing to secure these type of things in place. I imagine camper van builds run into similar problems as well

I ended up removing the third row seat mounts, and getting longer bolts to attach it that way
I mocked up a template, and very precisely

marked and drilled the holes, to keep the front of the drawers where it needed to be,

It bolted in just fine and with the bolts and washers feels very sturdy

Looking forward to camping in it,
I used M10x1.25 thread pitch bolts, originally bought 90mm bolts but they were way too long, 60mm is the length you need.
