So my driver side door lock actuator seems to be acting up. When I shut the door, it doesn’t always “catch” and I have to go and shut it again. My question is, has anyone had any luck with the versions sold on eBay? The price difference is appealing compared to the ones sold at parts store. I didn’t even bother looking up dealer prices. Here’s a link to one of the eBay listing.

Just be sure you are getting the right part. A door handle off ebay was slightly off for one screw which made it incompatible and a waste of time/money. Should have just ordered from Lexus Parts and gotten the right one.

I can't speak to the GX470, but both front door actuators were toast when I bought my GX460.

I believe the OE brand is ASIN, which were ~$250 for a pair... at least ASIN is what I pulled out of my door.

I didn't want to spend that much, so I bought the Gledewen brand replacement for part numbers 69040-42250 and 69030-42230 (again, for the GX460, NOT the GX470), about $70 for a pair.

They've only been in a couple weeks but seem to be working fine so far. I bought them on Amazon, so I figure I can always return if they break soon.

BTW, if you have more time on your hands, you could try rebuilding the door lock actuators. Just search for "gx470 flat shaft door lock actuator" and you should find threads like this: GX470 door lock actuator motor repair - ClubLexus - Lexus Forum Discussion - https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gx-1st-gen-2004-2009/587449-gx470-door-lock-actuator-motor-repair.html

My plan is to just use the Gledewens that I currently have installed. If they fail prematurely, I still have my ASINs on hand, I will rebuild those before opening the door up to re-install.

Thanks for the great info! I will look into the Gledewens and will also look at the repair thread

I just did all 5 of my wife’s actuators. 27.00 fir the motors off eBay and about a half hour per door to install. If you rebuild them besure the motors are orientated do the electrical pins line up.
So you did a rebuild and replaced motor rather than replacing the whole actuator itself?

@landtank thanks for the video link. I think I’ll do what @Arch Stanton did and buy one from Amazon then keep and rebuild original. I’ll feel safe knowing I have one that works before prying open the original. Thanks for all the info guys. Happy New Years!!

you sound like a beginner :). You buy the motor AND the assembly from Amazon. You then do your best to repair the bad one and if successful you return the unopened one back to Amazon. Otherwise you install the Amazon assembly. ;)
Depends if you value your time or money more, but yeah, a great alternative!
