I had to install one on my son's GX470 years ago. If it's anything like that (and I would think it would be) pull the plastics off the inner rear door (several youtube videos on it) and you should see a couple holes at the top. Unbolt the screws and remove them. Pull the wiring through so that if you or someone else wants to replace it then it will be easy enough to wire back up the 3rd brake light. Then it's just a matter of filling the holes with bondo and paint to match.

And here's a screen shot from that video. If I had to guess the bolts will be in the 2 areas circled in red. Should be easy enough to check though by just pulling the top 3 trim pieces.

You need to pop open the glass to get to the bolts on the back side of the glass. There is also a plastic cover near the wiper that needs to be removed.
