subalpine lake on hwy395. about 10000ft. was so glad i have steel skids and sliders for my pretty much stock vehicle.
Was that one of the passes going east from the 395? Maybe Monitor Pass, Sonora Pass or Tioga Pass?

Did the first part of Middle Saint Vrain.

Also did Bunce School Road as well as Ironclads and found the balance point between stable and rolling over in the truck descending at over 30 degrees off camber.

One of the few moments were i regret KDSS. Thankfully they are rare.

Wow! Love seeing everyone getting out on the trails with their rigs! Very inspiring!

Doesn't Dr. KDSS have a "KDSS Off" kit?
Have it. The issue with kdss is it flops over a few extra degrees when going slow because of the accumulators.

Played around North East of RMNP. Did Moody Hill, Green Pig Road, Buckhorn Pass and returned on Old Flowers road in under an hour.

Lost a lot of time trying to find alternative cross overs between Buckhorn Pass and Old Flowers Road, but everything has been blocked by landowners which sucks. Had to go all the way to Pingree pass.

Got a good deal on a hitch swing (1UP Rak Attach) off FB, which makes it easier to access my cargo area while using the pak mule hitch rack. The unique feature of the rak attach is that you can mount to either swing towads the passenger or drivers side. Other swings only swing out to passenger side. Other benfit is that since my rack now sites a bit further out, the cargo isn't getting burnt by the exhaust!

Last year I tried to do the Alpine Loop but Black Bear was shutdown so I've spent the last year wanting to go drive it. I love that area so it was a great excuse to take a quick trip up to that area over the long weekend.

It is about a 16 hour drive to Lake City so we did 6 hours one night and got up early the next day to get to a camp site before it got too late. Found a nice dispersed site with an incredible view.

It was colder than we expected an got some rain but we pushed through to head across Engineer Pass the next morning. It was a good warmup since I don't get to do much offroading in Texas.

I did Engineer last year but this year we avoided Mineral Creek. We went over to Silverton since I didn't stop in Animas Forks last year. Engineer is such a mild but rewarding drive. Some narrow shelf roads and passing can be a pain but the views are great.

Stopped to check out Animas Forks and it is really cool. Loved reading about the families that settled there. The Gustavson's built their house in 1906 and sold it in 1910. Looks like they stayed around Silverton but I wonder what became of them.
