GX460 Mirror replacement option - Unknown part (1 Viewer)

Hi Y'all,

We had some water get in the headliner through the sunroof and it seems to have fried the autdimming on the rearview Mirror (also the sidemirrors).

I've since unplugged the drains, and am looking at fixing the mirrors.

There is a forward facing sensor on the mirror that is not present on any of the replacement mirrors I've found online. Does anyone know what it is for, and if it is necessary? According to a reddit post it is for headlight detection

I'm looking to replace with OEM, or maybe one of the frameless ones like this:


But I don't want to remove any of the other functionality. Any thoughts are appreciated!

That's the camera for the Lane Departure Alert system.

Rain sensor is stuck to the glass.

That is the auto high beam sensor. I have one of those as a spare.. mod someday.. will require custom wiring. LDA camera is off top of windshield area

You'll have to download then you use the web as the interface to access the PDF's of the items you'll looking for.
But use that and you'll be able to find part numbers and where/how it's assembled.

Assuming the BCM supports it..I’d have to run an additional wire to BCM to get it to work on mine. The connector is not the same as well as the non-equipped AHB mirror

Right on, thanks. Had them reversed in my mind. Good news is it should be less expensive to source and simpler to install.
