Saw this on a local dealers web site for sale and figured some people might be interested to see the winch bumper as I havent seen one like this yet. Appears to be made by Metal Tech. When I had my Tacoma there were several companies that make a smaller center bumper like this but nothing except maybe CBI that I have seen for the GX. I like it looks wise as I dont care much for the ARB/Ironman, feel they stick way to far out the front.

It's tough with the large spindle grille of the 2014+ GX. The Hybrid setups don't allow you visual access to the winch/spool and they provide zero protection leaving gobs of gaudy, flimsy plastic flapping in the wind. The full wrap bumpers add weight, stick pretty far out, are somewhat custom/one-off installs since you have to wing the cutting being that it's actually a Prado bumper, but they provide ample protection and they shed the plastic fantastic soccer mom vibe.

You've got to pick your poison at the moment, given the GX460's exploding popularity I am hoping that there will be new bumpers coming to market in the future, but there's only so much you can do with a front end that only a mother could love. The two best Hybrid options currently out there IMHO are the CBI GXOR Hybrid and whatever this is that @Kai_lexy is running.

☝☝ totally agree!

I like my CBI, but I think I like "whatever kai_lexy is running" a little better since it appears to have some wraparound protection, offers some light upgrade opportunities, and the cut lines look better IMHO.

If it had been available at the time I probably would have bought it - but I really like the subtle looks of the CBI so I'm still happy with it.

Have to admit, that is the first bumper I've seen that checks all the boxes.
  • Close fitting
  • Front and side protection
  • Winch capable
  • Actually keeps the "spindle" grill lines
  • Good approach angle
  • Keeps headlight washers
  • Allows auxiliary lighting
The only hit-or-miss may be all the bright screw heads. Not sure where I sit with that yet.

Yea it's a nice option, I am not sure how much they run or how available they are or who even makes them, but that could be found out pretty easily. I am content with my Ironman and I know that I stand a fair chance against these pigs and white tail deer down here should I have collision with one.

Yea, me too. I feel pretty good about my MetalTech and know that I stand a fair chance against these protestors and Antifa down here should I have a collision with one.

I AM NOT MAKING ANY THREATS, JUST KIDDING!!!!!!
