Does anyone know or has any youtuber asked why the GX is 650lbs heavier than the LC? The GX OT is spec'd at 5675lbs and the OT+ is 5705lbs. The LC is listed at 5038lbs. Where is the extra weight coming from? The drive train of the GX and LC seem like a wash considering the LC has the battery and electric motor to counteract the GX's larger displacement and 2 extra gears. In the Throttle House LC video, the LC doors sound very hollow so I'm assuming weight savings there. But where else? Seems like it would be difficult to add that much sound deadening to the GX or at least 650lbs of sound deadening.

It will also be interesting where the new 4Runner lands weight wise. The 5th gen 4Runner was 4750lbs. I would assume the smaller (shorter) body of the 4runner would be a little lighter than the LC.

LC250 curb weight is actually around 5350 lb for the 1958. Their quoted figure is incorrect.
That makes a lot more sense. I'm wondering if the 5037.5lbs as stated on Toyota's website is supposed to be 5375lbs. This would be a 300lb weight differential which seems more reasonable.

According to tech specs, the LC 250s range up to 5575 lb curb weight depending upon options and trim. I am curious to know the origins of the 5037 lb value published on the website.

Scott Brady seemingly confirming that the specs in their article are based on "the recently released spec sheet". While he's responding about ground clearance and off-road angles, this reply would apply to weight and GVWR..

So possibly the non-hybrid 5375lbs and the hybrid 5575. 200lbs is the difference between the non vs hybrid Tundra.

And the GX460 is around 5150 on the same chassis, so I'm not surprised. Lexii have much more insulation... and stuff in general.
