anyone ever experience this? was at the dealer today for an oil change (really b/c my car was filthy and needed a wash) and when i got in, it felt a little lower, but i didn't notice from the outside b/c i was talking to the service guy (note, he's a buddy of mine so i wasn't paying attention to the car so much as our convo). the rear felt a little low, then every bounce was more and more jostling. i pulled over after a half mile and was almost nauseous from the rear hopping all over the place. the bags were completely empty.

U-turn and head straight back. we tried to cycle the ride-height system, the compressor was working, and you could see some minor adjustment being made, but nothing significant. mind you it was perfectly fine when i took it in.

another service guy who is a former tech 'team leader' (whatever that means) came out to help. he said that if the GX is up on the lift and they don't turn the AHC 'off' (never even noticed the little kill switch right by the controls) and put the key in the ignition when the truck is off the ground, the computer gets confused, and doesn't fill the bags, then when they set it back down, there's a valve that can fold over and keep them from filling.

*update, while i was typing my buddy called me and said that the right rear airbag is leaking. not sure how that happens under their watch b/c it was fine when i took it in. hmmm.

Coil conversion recommendations?

metal tech sells a conversion kit. i'm confused though, your signature says 2.5" Toytec lift. Did you only lift the front and tricked the airbags to lift the rear?

yeah, unintentionally misleading, 2.5" spacers and rear bags tricked. need to fix that.

anyway.

no worries, just making sure. posts #7 and 8 on the below link show what i got with the kit. Toyota PN's are in the pictures in case you want to source the isolators yourself. I found them cheaper online but was easier with shipping to get the whole enchilada from metal tech.

TJM 2.5" Lift Information

I never once turned anything off on my air suspension when I lifted it on my lift at work, and it was fine for the longest time. Ultimately my compressor gave out which lead to the coil conversion. What more than likely happened is when they lowered it back down to the ground, one of the bags didn't align straight and punched a hole in it. Either way, coil conversion time

Had exactly the same thing happen last week and ironically the same RR air bag. i ran across some posts that said this can happen if the air bags are ready to go. When the truck is up on a hoist the wheels drop extending the air bag. if the rubber is weak it can cause it to split.

Icon lift on the way.
