Well this is the next GA Cruiser event after the pig roast in a couple weeks, I figured I would go ahead and post up a thread to let trash talking and prep talking begin. For those of you who havent been to Windrock or GSMTR, this is a great park and an awesome event. GSMTR was my first major TLCA event to go to and I never plan to miss one because of the wheeling, campfire banter, and just being out in the woods. No need in reinventing the wheel here, so I just copy and pasted most of Roger's post in here so you get the gist of what GSMTR really is. Many reason I post this thread was to keep registration question in Roger's thread and general chat and BS on this thread...

"You don’t want to miss the 23rd annual Great Smoky Mountain Trail Ride May 12-17, 2014.The event will be at Windrock Park which has over 300 miles of trails, so we can return to the all day trail rides of the past, at Windrock you can come for 6 days and ride new trails every day whether you are a stock beginner or a hard core buggy. This area is not Tellico but has dense forests and beautiful mountain views everyone should enjoy. We will be providing guided trail rides and for the more adventurous the park has excellent maps and the trails are well marked. For more park information: www.windrockpark.com"

I also tied in a poll to see where everyone stands on coming to GSMTR...

Here are some pictures of some of the prior GSMTRs...

A consideration for the drivers of stock trucks ... The event is held at Windrock park because it has a lot of trails in all levels of difficulty, so you can bring a stock truck to the event and have fun running miles of trails suited to your set up and level of comfort. Similarly as you can see from the pics, you can bring a buggy and have a great time too.

See you there.

Very true Larry! Windrock is a great park for any rig from stock to crazy built buggy, I am contemplating whether to bring my daily driver 80 and the Franken80. I only have pictures of the harder trails, because that is what I went to while there. If people have more pictures of the easy and moderate trails, please post them so everyone gets a better well rounded view of the park.

I agree with Larry. This is a great event at a great park with miles of trails. There is something for every level of driver skill and type of truck. Everything from mild to wild.

I'm a goin', not registered yet but it's a foregone conclusion. Like last year shooting up early Tuesday morning and staying the week, can't wait!!

Hey Larry, I bumped into a red 60 door last night, can I bring this thing back to you @ GSMTR?

I'm going fri-sun

Sure. If I don't have room, daughter's boyfriend (Ryan) should have room in his 4runner.

My plans are going to depend heavily on my work schedule that week. Best case is go up Thursday and leave Sunday. Worst case is go up Friday and come home Sat or Sun.

A Sunday GSMTR arrival was seriously discussed this weekend... :hmm:

Also--for you guys that don't watch other forums Windrock is reportedly performing random cooler checks both on the trails and at the main parking lot entrance. :bang:

Some of you more creative types should provide some ideas on covert coolers.

That's really ok with me. I really don't like to drink beer when I am away from work, with my friends, hanging out and in general having a good time. I mean who needs it, right???

Of all the people I know you were the one guy that I knew would be ok with this.:flipoff2:

What are they checking for? Cokes and Ice Tea aren't allowed on the trails? :flipoff2:

We could just get a pony keg and put in the back of John's truck with his air tank, then we would be civilized and drink from cups :grinpimp:

Ya think if we showed up with our "expedition" trailer they would take notice?

Some whiskey in a flask in my tool bag should work right?

We was thinking last week that we wasn't gonna make it but we may come Thursday - Sunday. I ain't touched my rig since January lol. I had big plans to sink some cash in my rig b4 Gsmtr . Well I have had alot of projects that take all my extra cash so may just slap some cv axels in and head up !

Anybody want to help me put my Orion in before GSMTR??? My shop or yours!!!

If I have a free weekend before then (pretty sure I do) I'll help. Never put one in before though.

Can't do it this weekend because I'm probably going to be putting a head gasket on a 22RE.
