60 series 16" rims are available

Hey John, what about some aussie style side view mirrors for a 60? They would compliment my sliding windows...:grinpimp:

Aint got none that are any gooder.

Damn. How about HJ style manual adjust mirrors? They're like the 62 mirrors, but not chrome and no power.....

Will check. They said all the mirrors they have are junk

Not that big of a deal, but if they have a set that isn't absolutely horrible, I'll give it a shot.

zero 5 speeds right now but that might change. they get new stuff everyday

Jsaltlick, now that the closing date has passed, could you tell me where you are getting these parts because even allowing for freight you are being ripped bigtime! $4000AU (including freight) for a 5 speed is ridiculous. That is more than double what they sell for here.Freight of $6500(american) is more than being covered by just five(5) 5speed gearboxes. Second hand non rebuilt you could buy heaps of 5 speeds for $400 american so you work out how much you are being ripped.

I would be happy to organise group buys in the future so the cost to the end user would be considerably less. Cheers.

I really don't know where you are getting any of these numbers. If I can get heaps of 5 speeds for $400 then how come I haven't been able to find any for the last 2 weeks?? If I could get ANY high speeds I would have bought them for even more than I'm paying now. Check eBay AU and call yards down there and find me one that is $400

Nobody down there has quoted anywhere near the prices you've listed and I have an aussie resident `working with me on the other end. He says the prices I;ve paid are in line.

Where did you get that $4000 number for 5 speeds? You're really not making any sense. Your post is very confusing and makes me look like I'm ripping people off which I can safely say I am not.

Please re-read my posts and clarify.

The fact you have only 4 posts leads me to believe you might have different motives.

If you want to start doing group buys then knock yourself out. I got over 400 emails and 300 PM's. If you think I'm getting rich and having fun then you must be high.

I fully believe that you are not getting rich doing this, but as "The Flipper" you gotta be having some fun?!? By the way, thanks for hooking me up with some parts I would have zero shot at buying for any where close to what I am spending through you!!! I know I appreciate it!

I second that! There's no way in hell I'd be able to afford the H55 if it weren't for John.

X3. Thanks for doing this John! I personally think that you are doing a lot of us a favor.

Cruiserparts.net had one that NEEDED a rebuild and it was more that what John is asking.

I think that you could have asked a lot more and people would have paid it for the 5speeds.

"H55F- 5 speed- professionally rebuilt $2500 (includes rebuilt transfer case)" converts to $4000AU
The price YOU have quoted.

I have no other agenda.I posted AFTER the closing date for your group buy and then posted offering to help with better prices than you have been getting.
I have no connection with any suppliers or yards, but am well aware of the going prices for private buyers from private sellers here.

I have simply offered to help you avoid paying inflated(rip off) prices in the future,if you don't want to explore that avenue then that is fine, your choice.
As an example however, I just yesterday purchased as spares for my 62 a 5 speed with transfer(rebuilt 2500klms ago,a thomas 8000lb pto winch complete ready to fit, and a 3F(not3FE) in good running condition for a total of $620AU =$390US You work out the freight and see what the total to you would be.
These sorts of buys are common, buying from yards and commercial suppliers is not the way to go in Australia.

I posted purely to offer some assistance in future purchases sorry if you are offended.

That's insane. I almost don't believe you, but then again you are over there.

Why don't you start up a business shipping these cheap parts over to the US where there are hundreds of guys who will buy them?

Either way, compared to other H55 prices in the US, I paid nothing. I could literally go pick my tranny up and sell it here for twice to three times what I paid for it ( $1050 ), just to give you a perspective.

I'm sorry but I would much rather do a group but from a friend who knows people in Australia and is dealing with a reputable salvage yard that normally sends parts to the us rather than some jerk that has only 5 posts. No offence but I wouldn't feel comfortable giving you $50 let alone 10 times that.

Not offended and those are great prices but your first post made it look like you waited till it was over to show everyone that I was ripping them off.

I added $200 USD to each transmission for freight and my time for the purposes of full disclosure.

Thought I was getting a great deal and compared to the prices here, it is a great deal. $2600 for a completely rebuilt transfer case and 5 speed is a steal. There is a company here in the US that sells only a used 5 speed with no transfer case (not rebuilt) for $2300 USD not including shipping.

You would have a great business if you started wrangling up 5 speeds.

Re-read your first post closely and you can see why I got a bit defensive. I'm good friends with most of the people who bought stuff so having an unknown person telling everyone that the prices are outrageous puts me in a bad light. All the yards I spoke to down there gave me similar prices if not much higher.

Anyway, no hard feelings but this has been an exhausting project and I'm glad it's done.

No problems sorry if the first post was taken that way it was certainly not intended.Yards here are a last resort for buying parts, most things are done by private sellers. If you ever decide to do another group buy feel free to contact me and I will be happy to source prices and availability for you.I don't want anything from it just happy to help.
