The batteries are already linked and the Aux can be used to start the car. The RBM just gives the Aux an added boost to help start using the main.

on their website this is already a feature: In an emergency situation (defective or empty Main Battery) or in case of higher power consumption the two batteries (Main & Aux) may be connected together by activating the link button (red LED manually linked is on)

Correct. Basically the RBM assists the relay in the event the main battery is depleted below 9V, think of it like a reverse transformer.

I was OK with my dual battery system taking an extra 2 weeks to show up because of a shipping label misprint. And I'm OK with the mystery problem I'm having with the meter because I'm confident that will be solved soon. But seeing a group buy begin the day after my system arrives? That's just salt in the wounds, man. Thank you for listening to me whine.
