I was passing through your neck of the woods today. Making my yearly migration from Atlanta to Yellowstone for my fourth summer. While filling up the gas guzzling monstrosity known as a FZJ80 in Odesa MO I was approached by one of your members. I was nearing the 700 mile mark for for diving for the day and was seriously brain dead chatting with him. Luckily his brain was still functioning! Always good to meet Cruiser folks! I am continually reminded what good group of people we have in the TLCA community!

Hope to meet more of you guys in the future!

Enjoy the Yellowstone. If for some reason you have troubles in the Topeka / Lawrence area my number is 785-231-8738 . Last time I went through Colorado one of the local members there @SAS did the same for me and it ended up really helping me out when I had some unexpected mechanical problems. Safe travels.

2014 i made my first drive from Atlanta to WY. I had only owned the cruiser for 5 months. Bought it in good shape but as normal no PM ever done. So it was a mad dash to get it ready for the trip. Brake booster decided to quit about 100 miles from Denver. I was able to get a used on from Craigs list in Denver. A member here, Blackproject80 Invited my to his home and totally hooked me up in his amazing shop installing th brake booster. I am consistently impressed with how helpful people are here.

Thanks for the offer. Hopefully i wont ever take you up on that. Same goes if you guys need help in the Yellowstone Tetons area. I am in that area usually form May to Oct.

I am headed to yellowstone this summer; however, only have a couple days. Do you have a list of the things I should not miss? FYI, three 80 series rigs, so we can get off the beaten path-- in fact we would prefer to.

We will have to talk. It is almost imposible for me to make recomendations because as e everyone likes different stuff and appreciates different things. Honestly some of tge touristy stuff is still pretty amazing. But you will be with crowds unless very early or late.

It is hard to find areas away from people unless hiking. Then it is easy. If you want to "wheel" to secluded camping spots that will only happen outside pf the park. I knpw of one great place to wheel and camp near the northeast entrance but it is basically a full day to get to the trail end. Only 6 miles but slow going "jeep trail". Gets way up above tree line and near a glacier.

There a much tamer trail south of the partk near Grand Teton that is about 3 miles drive up a light trail. It ends In a field that is nation forrest outside the park. So you can camp there as far as I am concerned. Camping can 100% fillip in that area fast. So it might be a good option to have.

@rc51kid I'm Tracy, and I live in Colorado Springs; probably south of your intended travel route, but I have buddies in Denver and points north. If you need any assistance, text me 785-313-6454 and I'll "spin up" the network. Of course, offer is open to all TAC members traveling this way.

@rc51kidd,
It was great to meet you in Odessa the other day. I'd be a bit fried after 700 miles in a day. I hope you had safe travels out, and upon your return. If you ever need a hand with anything , let us know.

Rob
