My home built trailer has a Dodge Caravan AWD rear axle.
It's 5 bolt and H.D. I flipped it upside down and it has great ground clearance. The flip requires no mods other than u-bolts. The tube can be cut for what ever track width you want. I chose no brakes and stripped them off including the backing plate. I went with the Caravan springs because they where plentyful at my Pull&Save wrecking yard. They are light but I found 2 sets of helper springs at the yard that where priced right also. I have added them and with this setup I had no problem hauling 3/4T, 1500 lb. plus loads of gravel.
The bed is mostly Willys truck. I'm into the project about $700. It hauls my D.S. motorcycle, my 8' jon boat, firewood, rocks, dirt most anything. I have towed it over 7 thousand miles with no problems.
