Do they still have a high pitch to them?

I am still loving my FIAMM from Harbor Frieght....they were $9.00 each (high and low tone).

They sound great.

Rats! can't get the picture to show on my browser... I will stop by again.. hopefully it will work for me then.

I forget the DB rating on the package but just from my "ear" test they are LOUD!

Much louder and much more deeper/fuller tone than stock. I also think they have a much better attention getting sound than the stock ones.

Also they are plug and play no rewiring at all.

IIRC, they're 118db...if that means anything to you ;)

do they sound like an air horn or a deeper and louder stock horn?

Deeper and louder stock horn...closest thing I can think of is it sounds alot like the horn off our old '72 Suburban.

Since they are not air horns...they don't sound like them. ;)

To get a deep air horn you have to go with ones that are over 16" for sure. The short 8" ones will not be a deep tone....loud but not deep.

what about the hella airhorns?

Haven't personally heard them but I still doubt they would be a deep tone. Will they make soccer mom/granny who is drifting into your lane soil themselves...probably but it won't sound like a train.

This was discussed before and someone was or was planning on putting actual train air horns on their rig. I have a friend who has a set from a train on his Super Duty....holy crap they are loud and scary.

train or semi horns

now THAT would be sweet..... :D
wonder how big a compressor you need for them ;)

I had the hella air horns on a rally car - they are freaking loud - scared the hell out of spectators that decided to wander onto an open stage. They didn't last long though - I think the mud destroyed the compressor part of them.

Water and/or mud will kill the compressor. I've known people who've had them and replaced them a few times...until they got tired of killing the compressors...then they got the non-air horn type.

The FIAMM's from Harbor Freight are great. I had switched horns with my wife's Lexus and now I can switch her's back. As TX_TLC stated, it is a quick and simple plug and play install.

I put a pair of FIAMM airhorns on my tacoma. good kit-easy to install and it came wtih an air compresor. fn-loud!!.comes in real handy in El Pao where everybody is afraid of driving over 50 MPH on I-10. I plan on adding a aet to my 80 real soon. i think theres also a kit available with 3 horns. :grinpimp:
