Got stuck...(blah)... why didn't A-TRAC function like I expected?

Coulda aired down (and perhaps should have before even venturing up there), but I agree that lockers probably wouldnt have helped much. The long blue recovery rope and the come-along to a tree was the easy way out.

What really didnt help though is a new-ish SWB Jeep with a big lift and 40-ish" MT's drove around me slowly and went on with his day, making tracks in the snow less than 3" deep.

Is someone had been standing there and said "I can make your LX do that for $20k." I would have sold my kidney at that moment. My "off-road ego" needed repair too badly.

Keep your kidneys. They will be much happier riding in your LX than in a Jeep.

Hi-Lift high enough to either dig out, or Hi-Lift and place rocks/debris/branches under the tires and drive out.

That's a great idea tho. I had a hi-lift that I could have used to get the MaxTrax under much more easily. Damn. Next time

Artic Trucks can do that to your LX. They run 44s on glaciers in Iceland. Getting in and out is a little different with 12 inches of additional step in height.

That's just physics. Way lighter rig on way bigger tires = way more floatation...
