That's a steal. Roughly what's the GVWR on an 80? There's a lot of good deals on them right now, and I'm wondering if one could tow my 40 on a trailer.

Hi Nat... If I were you I would give some serious consideration to:

This front bumper:

Slee - Toyota 80 Series Land Cruiser - ShortBus Front Bumper Detail

These sliders:

Metal Tech's 80 Series Sliders

This lift (w/ adjustable panhards):
Slee - Toyota 80 Series Toyota Land Cruiser Suspension
PS - i did not need the adjustable rear upper control arms. I would also opt OUT of the Slee Castor Correction plates and get LandTanks.

Tires:
Since the runner is going to be your trail rig, are you going to get A/Ts so you will have a better snow vehicle?

Why spend 4X the cost of the truck for armor?

80 are not gaining value for now. Consider tube on the bumpers after the stock ones are dead. Build the sliders from a prefab kit otherwise shipping will kill ya. I wonder if Landtank would be interested in a slider fab. weekend? I want sliders mounted before I see any trails with my truck. I would consider IPOR transfercase armor, seem like a good deal for the protection given.

I do agree about landtank's caster plates, IMO they are the best setup currently out.

Hey Nat nice looking truck. Want a deal on a slightly used ARB? I'm looking at the Slee but need to get rid of the ARB first.

Once you wheel that double locked beast the Runner will be packed in moth balls. That thing going to be ready for Aug 7th?

got the 80 all cleaned up and took it out back to see how she would do on some hill climbs i can say is wow:eek: even with balding tires and the diff lock switch off the truck climbed right up the hill no tire spin nuthin:D cant wait to try it with a 4" lift and some 35's

Wow $1300, what a deal
How many miles does it have?
I can't wait to see it lifted and in action on the trails

215,000 but its still seams to have a lot more life left in her

well i got the truck for cheep so that allows me to spend a good amount of money on it. The good thing is wife is all for it, cause if she was not and i just spent all that money lets just say i would be sleeping out side for a while.:frown:

pete you have one bad ass truck it inspired me to build an 80. you should keep it... or sell it to me for cheep money:grinpimp:

you will love the Trxus if you can keep them balanced. great tire. by greatest advice on the lift is even though the bolts look alike, they arent! keep the locations of them pretty well organized. i am sure you know this already but i think that is what cost Rick the most time when he was helping me... i was puting the wrong bolts in the wrong places and messing things up.

also, after a few hundred miles, go through and re-tighten everything! lots of my bolts had loosened up and you remember that one panhard one that was real bad when i lost in on the highway!

one good thing is Nat is keeping the stock bushings everywhere. Pete, you had the poly ones and a friend down in SC had a bolt hole wallow out on one of those. The poly bushings tend to transfer more force to the bolt and you need to tighten them more than if the stock bushings are used.

Pete, my best advice to you is to key one side of your truck and take a baseball bat to the other. That should take care of the first damage jitters and you can go have fun with that thing.
