Is this the right thing to do, by standing up on top of the front passenger frame to replace the firewall heater hose? I just can't reach, it seems impossible to do even I'm on the steps.

Shoot. Those are the easy ones. The two behind the head are way worse. IMO, they are worse than the PHH.

You can also use a "top creeper". It lets you lay across the top of the engine to reach the back. Just don't lean hard on the radiator.

Also, in my ever so humble opinion, the Toyota hoses fit better and last plenty long. Order new molded hoses from C-Dan. Don't bother with those fancy colored ones.

yea forget those 2 the 2 behind those are the ones. I agrre stock house fit very good there.
You can also remove front tires and lower truck on jack stands for much better access.

I cant get my legs in that spot as theres a SC in the way ;p

It's easy to do the ones on the firewall. All you have to do is pull the head.

It took half an hour for me to figured it out, since the stainless steel clamps are so big I played along with them how to mount it without hitting the clamps it self.

The pic,

1. The top hit the black plastic piece.
2. The middle, the two clamps will hit and rub against each other.
3. And the bottom one, If you aren't planning to replace the spark plugs and the wires, I guess its okay to mount the clamp same as in the pic illustrated :flipoff2: :D

And to all cheers :flipoff2:  :grinpimp:

Do you know that the silicon hose are more prone to leaking than non silicon?

Rich- while this is true in cold temps, using constant tension clamps usually takes care of this problem. I've had a silicone PHH installed with constant tension clamps for just over a year and 12k mi. now, and no leaks yet. And I've taken several trips to colder areas with no probs.
