A couple weeks ago, some exploratory speaker work in the door panel inadvertently caused my power windows & locks to fail. Until this point, both had worked pretty well for the year I have owned my cruiser.

Not possessing much more than a small shred of electrical savvy, I sat down and read everything I could find on MUD. Results have varied...

Door Locks:
- Re-setting the circuit breaker under the dash has brought back the power locks... done

Windows:
- The master switch in the DD was looking pretty bad, so I replaced the switch guts with an aftermarket version & swapped the leads around in the pigtail to mimic the factory setup (had to b/c I have grey interior & the switch only came in brown). Also soldered a jumper wire for the window lock since mine was broken.
- Swapped the window relays themselves, as I couldn't hear any clicking when I pressed the switches

... no dice :worms:

Could someone who understands 60 series electrical please advise where to go next? I'm out of ideas & knowledge about how to chase this down.

The fuses in the dash appear fine, but are there other fuse locations to check under the hood? Could there be a ground loose or a common short location possibly preventing power to the window relay box?

Do I need to stand on my left foot and sacrifice a chicken to the cruiser gods to get this working :bang::bang:

FWIW - Reading @slcfj62 's write up on the window & lock permanent fix has motivated me to put that on my list, but not until I can first get the windows working.

Just a thought as i have considered buying the aftermarket ( brown one ) as well........if i remember right reading on this it said to contact seller if your wiring was diff and they could help get it wired right......Didn't mention if you had done this already only that you matched up best you could to factory wiring.....may just be a color ( wire) swap....but i would start there if you didn't.......sorry i can't be more help...but me and electrical DON"T play well together.!!

I did a visual comparison/validation of wire colors to pig tail from the solder points on the switch to the pig tail for both the original (which worked at one point) and the replacement. Maybe I'm wrong, but I would kind of expect "something" to happen even if the wires were crossed vs. everything being completely dead.

BTW - all windows are completely dead from all switches, if that makes any difference...

Sooooooo............did you ever get anywhere with this?????

Not an inch. Got busy with the holidays and went on vacation. I'm going to hopefully jump into it again this week. Probably look at the wiring diagram and confirm all the possible failure points from the relay backwards towards the battery...

I don't know enough to confidently test the switch or door relay with an external power source (e.g. motorcycle battery). If nothing jumps out at me, I may go by a local stereo shop and see if they can help.

If you have any suggestions, I'm open.
