Gordon's beer

I had one at the WF Clemson game and I thought it sucked balls. No way I'd pay 4 dollars for a beer like that.

I think Sierra Nevada is a much better beer at half the price.

This coming from the guy who adores Bud Light...

And its $3.25 per beer, not $4 :flipoff2:

Sierra Nevada is a good beer - I'm liking Sweetwater 420 better now though for a hoppy IPA

Paging JP and Andy...paging JP and Andy...

What about some Fat Tire? I can get ahold of that stuff, and it is great. Back in the day when I worked at REI in Brentwood, TN we used to let the morning shifters go to West Memphis, AR to pick it up (before you could transport it over the Missisip) and bring a couple sixers back, but now I can get it over in JC TN.... It rocks...

Ha, you nailed it Steve. In fact, Marshall left some of that putrid horse urine here after the Wake win over Clemson and every single bit of it is still taking up valuable space in the the fridge in the basement.

As far as getting some Gordon from you - sounds great the next time we cross paths!

Last time Richard bought Horse Urine it was around 4 dollars a can. Better check that green label.

In college I bought what I could afford. Which wasn't much. I remember getting Bush Light for 3.25 a 12 pack when it first came out. Out of College I went to the good stuff. Microbrews, Sierra Nevada, Highland, New Castle, and Becks.

My favorite is Becks Dark. I love that beer.

But going to a bar and drinking 4 dollar beers will put a hurting on your wallet when your drinking 8-12 of them in a sitting. Plus tips. Always tip your bartender. Basically I have grown to drink what I can afford for the purpose. I'm not a 1 or 2 beer guy. I drink for a purpose.

I like Bud light it serves the purpose. I did try some of the new American Ale Bud makes. It was really good. I suggest giving it a try. It also won't make you go broke.

I hear you on drinking a dozen $4 beers at one sitting - ouch. That's the thing with Gordon though, 2 or 3 go a long way.

Actually, after I made that last post I had to get the pot roast started in the kitchen and your Bud Light was a good addition. Most of it will still be here the next time you swing by though so don't worry.

Mmmmmm, fresh venison roast that was walking around in the woods less than a week ago. :grinpimp:

I'll pick up whatever the store ordered. They should be able to get as much as we want now.

Sounds good. Lately I've been into Dogfish Head 90 Minute Imperial IPA. AWESOME stuff.

I tried a new one last night - BB Small Batch 471, Double Hopped India Pale Ale. It is a tasty brew as well but not as good as Dogfish Head 90 or Gordon IMHO...

Juice, when you finally make it down to A-town, we'll treat you to the Brick Store Pub.
Brick Store Pub : Draught
Brick Store Pub : Bottled
The owner was a lobbyist for getting microbrews and high gravity available in GA. We like to "thank" him for opening the State's eyes whenever we can.

Funny you mention that... those two have been my staple for the last couple months. Best two beers around. The 471 is a bit lighter than the 90 minute, but a very tasty BIG bottle of brew.

Nothing wrong with Gordans either, but my local store doesn't carry it. I'd have three varieties in my fridge if they did.

Actually have a bunch of NC Brewing Co. Stout right now... my Bro in Law knows the brewer up there so I get a steady supply when I see them. They also make a great IPA (for the money)... it's not 90 minute quality, and not 9+%

I picked up 4 4-packs. It was all they picked up. I'll tell them on Monday to order more if you want it. I don't know how hard it is to get Gordon's elsewhere.

Sounds good. Ali and I are coming down a day or so after New Years (when deer season is out :grinpimp:). I just told Heather a day or so ago and need to nail down some dates.

Next time i'm in JC i'll pick up as much as I can and bring it down that way (fat tire that is) i'll be passing thru the seat of secession this weekend, staying at a friend's condo in Hilton Head, but i'll probbably go over that way in the next couple of weeks....

I stick to shiner or Yuengling, but do like flat tier and some of the others for a change every once in a while. Dont think i have ever tried Gordon's. Will look for it when i run out of my current stock.

Dave

I am also running to Memphis next week for a few days so if there is some micro that i need to bring back let me know and I will take a look. There are a few good stores there that carry alot on micros that i hope are still open.
