Initial reaction: These may be one of the best tires on the market for "light-ish" weight daily driving SUV's and trucks who will spend some time camping / hunting / trail running. I cannot believe how quiet these things are (on the pavement) for what they are. I guess only time will tell if they get significantly louder with wear. The compound is soft-ish so my guess is that if you have anything that weighs more than a 1/2 P/U, you're probably only gana get 15K - 20K miles out of them. I've owned BFG A/T's, MT/R's, MTZ's, etc, etc, and this is my far the best one I've daily driven on.

Hope this helps anyone considering them

I about threw up when I saw the new duratrack and there new MT......what was goodyear thinking??
Yike's

Ok OK, I saw the new duratrack's, its not as bad as I thought!

But I still dont care for the new goodyear MT's................

With that kind of a side wall tread, it amazes me that the tires are still quite.

I've been running them at 45 psi with good results. I have not, however done a chalk test yet. Aired them down to about 20 offroad and had tons of grip and no real concern about the sidewall.

AJ, I did a chalk test on mine, but it looks like I'm running a lower vehicle weight than you since I have OEM bumpers.

I have a few hundred miles on my 285 Duratracs now.

1) They look great.

2) Sound is louder than the worn, stock Michelin 275; however, road noise is not an issue. Disclaimer: all 4 doors each have a continuous layer of Dynamat as a sound barrier.

3) Tire pressure: they left the shop with 50 psi on all 4. Steering response was great, but ride was "harsh." (I have stock springs and KYB Monomax shocks). After driving a couple of hundred miles @ 50 psi, I decided to reduce to 35 psi for all 4 tires. This made a big improvement for ride comfort, and less sharp for turn-in response. I'll gladly take the ride comfort over the modest reduction in steering response. As a sanity check for 35 psi, I ran the tires with the chalk test. The test showed wear all the way to within about 1/4-1/2 inch to the edges (inboard & outboard) at the rear. The test also showed even wear across the front...wear to the edge likely from steering given the rear comparison. This is a mostly a stock weight rig without heavy weight gainers (no bumpers, sliders, etc.).

So far I'm highly satisfied. ...especially to have a stock rig begin to look tough. ;)

Hope this helps anyone shopping for Duratracs.

I'm thinking about getting new tires next spring and I'm seriously considering these tires. Thanks for the reviews!
